i'm going to a Giants' game Wednesday night
 

never been to a pro game before.
don't care much about the game.
i don't even know who they're playing!

what advice do you have for me?

i've been told to buy weiners already.

Last Giants Game I saw was at Candlestick Park. Is that still around? (not concerned enough to google it) I seem to vaguely recall hearing something a new stadium.
I have slept through several games at the Kingdome, Candlestick Park, and whatever Stadium that Nolan Ryan pitched in is/was called. The only thing I learned was to bring along a good book to stay awake.

This applies to English football matches, not sure if it'll work for you.

1. Wear the shirt.

2. Drink as much alcohol as you can before the game.

C. Arrive at the ground 5 minutes late. No more, no less.

4. Order a drink as soon as you arrive.

F. Take the first empty seat you can find.

5. Try to start a chant.

E. Make offensive hand gestures at the visiting supporters.

D. Persist with the chanting idea, it's worth it.

8. Try to hold your pee in till it's over.

6. Blame the referee.

12. After the game head to a bar to celebrate / commiserate.

just don't jump on a child in your haste to grab the ball if it comes near you.

It's PacBell or SBC park now. If you're not familiar with the wonderfull SF weather, bring warm clothes, you're right on the water there and it's gonna get cold real quick.

Try the garlic fries...mmmm, goes good with a beer.

Yell at Barry if you get the chance, he likes it.

As Jwoody stated, cussing and offensive hand gestures at the other team/fans is expected and always a blast!

Edit: I just looked, the game is VS The Dodgers. You picked a GREAT game to go to, if not for just the fans.

I think they are playing the Dodgers. It's an important game because the two teams are fighting it out for 1st place in the NL West.

Meet up with Lurkette as she is in SF on business, Drink a beer for us, Yell "Beat LA", bring a jacket or maybe a blanket, and a baseball glove! You never know when a foul ball could come your way, and watch EVERY pitch as you never know when a foul ball could come your way! Sit back relaxe and revel in the views of the SF Bay!

Oh Yeah, and be sure to BOO loudly when they walk Barry!

oh wow. i wish i could meet up with lurkette, but since i will be at the mercy of friends... it is unlikely tomorrow night. :(

i could have a glove the size of texas, a ball fly straight smack dab at me & still manage not to catch it.
