Right now we're on 20 threads, 4 above canada which is second on 16. Us aussie's are the masters of talking shit :D

They pronounce it the way it's spelt. So very very annoying.

It's almost as bad as pronouncing Bono "Bow No" (as in bow and arrow), or Kosovo as "Co Sew Vo"...

Actually, an interesting piece of trivia is that the British spelling is actually the incorrect, or at least inconsistent, spelling.

But let's not split hairs, eh?

It's along the same lines of people complaining that the Americans use '-ize' when '-ise' is correct. It is not. At least not in the King's English and if one were to be pedantic and/or traditional.
