The 33 1/3 second mystery #23
Name two places on Earth where you can walk 10 miles North, then 10 miles East, then 10 miles South and end up in the same place you started.
|
the north and south poles
|
I'm not sure how that works at the North pole. Walk 10 miles north when you're already at the north pole...?
Now if you start 10 miles south of the north pole it works (kinda): Walk 10 miles North (now you're at the N. Pole). Walk 10 miles East (which way is east when you're at the north pole? walk in a circle) Walk 10 miles South. So I guess there's an infinite number of places this will work all of them 10 miles south of the north pole. |

kazoo - read that one and it's not the same - read it again, there is an answer - and North pole is not right (South pole is correct, but that's the easy one)
|
He's COULD be very close to the north pole, He starts 10 miles south of where the earth has a circumference of 1, 2, 5, or 10 miles.
This answer IS correct, but it may not be what you're looking for. |
That is the answer I'm looking for, cybermike - good work. Guess I could've used 1000 miles in each direction to make it a little more clear that the N pole is not correct.
