The 33 1/3 second mystery #13

While we're awaiting solution to #12, let us ponder a matter perhaps simpler.

Binky is playing in his bathtub with a 24" plastic boat which is filled with stainless steel ball bearings. In the course of play, Binky upsets the boat and dumps the cargo to the bottom of the tub.

Does the water level rise, fall, or remain the same as it was when the ball bearings were in the boat?

stays the same...

while the ball bearings are in the boat they will cause the boat to sit lower in the water, displacing the same amount as when the ball bearings are in the water and not the boat

Crazy

I think it would fall, the ball bearings probably force the boat to displace more water than they do on their own.

ChickenNinja wins the soggy fuzzy bunny.

A floating object displaces its weight, while a submerged object displaces its volume, therefore in this problem, the water level goes down.

Will someone get the correct answer to #12? Yikes!

He did only take a low value one - the ones from the bottom shelf are often the crappy ones. If he wants a crappy bunny, let him have a crappy bunny!
