I saw this and chuckled, so I thought I'd share it with all of you. Some of you may have seen it already.

This started as a typical can of Coke, likely purchased at an Albertsons in Santa Barbara, CA sometime last summer. Somehow during a normal drunken binge the night before heading abroad for a vacation, this missed getting consumed. How? I dunno, probably scrapped the rum and cokes for straight rum shots, or passed out. It then traveled to Australia, and back again, seeing many sights along the way.
You meant to tell me that thing travelled around the world?

Perhaps it possess the spirit of the...Travelling Lawn Gnome!

That thing is up to $200!? What is this world coming to?

VitaminH 03-09-2004 10:05 AM

Geez, I saw it a few days ago and it was like $9, I figured that was as high as it'd go. What is with people these days...

kutulu 03-09-2004 10:20 AM

Wil Hung has a record coming out and some dumbass is buying a coke can for 200. The world is coming to an end.

raeanna74 03-09-2004 10:52 AM

Looks like an unopened can I left in the car in the winter. It froze, bulged the top, and eventually burst. Nothing special about that. Not that I don't want to be a believer in the supernatural but spending even $10 on a can that looks like something I could duplicate in my freezer - that's ridiculous.

Fremen 03-09-2004 11:56 AM

 Phtt! That's nothing. I've opened a case of Cokes and found one totally empty with no visible signs of damage and no sign of leakage on the packaging.

Mephisto2 03-09-2004 12:13 PM

I've got a fart I trapped in a jam-jar if anyone wants to buy it.

$100 and it's yours.

I left an unopened Coke can in the cupholder on the dash of my car one morning on a 100 degree day, and the top exploded like that. I would have saved the can if I realized how much it was worth.

I've had a few of those too. They're an error by the canning company. The machine the Coke is supposed to come out of... burped. Such cans are supposed to be prevented from coming into market.

This guy's got a great story. That's what people are bidding on. Now, let's see if he actually gets paid.

My friend's little brother had a can of ginger ale like that back when we were young'uns. Whenever the two of them fought, my friend would go right for the empty, unopened can and threaten to open it, rendering it completely unremarkable.
As for the can on Ebay, some people seem to have way too much money to waste and not enough sense to waste it on better things.

moonstrucksoul 03-09-2004 01:04 PM

it's like two hundred bucks now, damn too rich for my blood.
it does look evil though,

Mr Mephisto

OMG please put it on ebay!

Tholo 03-09-2004 02:54 PM

Thats one way to make an easy 200 bucks.

RoboBlaster 03-09-2004 03:26 PM

People will spend $200 on this crap when there are good out there. If people want to get rid of their money, that's fine, but it'd be nice if they did it on something worthwhile.

H12 03-09-2004 04:09 PM

I have a copy of Duke Nukem 64 that survived a house fire AND a memory card that lived to tell the story of how a washing machine treats its clothes...think I could get $750 for it?

Venus 03-09-2004 11:20 PM

Actually, that is kinda cool about your 64 stuff...was the Duke Nukem game the only thing left in the ash! hahahaha...I need to clean and see what cool stuff I have to sell. "One man's trash is another man's treasure," or so they say

mastboyx 03-09-2004 11:50 PM

hahahahahahaha omg that is too funny

fatboss 03-10-2004 01:53 AM

Some people are just plain gullible.

What would we do without them?

You will if you say it's haunted. Gullible people are more likely to believe in the paranormal. Cash in on this gullibility. Also, get a lot of publicity for the cartridge. If it's on the news, chances are higher that some kook will buy it.

yabobo 03-10-2004 05:18 AM

The bid is now $ 1.025 that's one thousand and twenty five dollars!
I have trouble just feeding my family and paying
my bills.... World is sicker than I thought....

Wow, and it was $200 just a couple of hours ago... scary. I might just go ahead and try to sell a possessed wad of gum (I swear I saw it levitating when I was drunk) or a possessed CD, which contains something else than what it says on the cover... in black marker... bid now!

BlueBongo 03-10-2004 07:20 AM

Hey.... watch it on the gnomes :P I actually "collect" them and like to take them travelling for odd amusement. Maybe to DC next week ..... hrmmm

But I think this is odd.. I remember when the PS2 came out and someone put a PS2 Box on ebay and it sold for about $200-$300. And it clearly stated that it was ONLY for the box.

People will bid on anything... kinda odd like that I suppose.

My brother secretly let his friend borrow my game without me knowing it...then that same night, the friend's house caught on fire. The whole house was destroyed, but I know both Duke Nukem 64 and his Nintendo 64 survived.

What's kinda funny is that Duke Nukem 64 was in the system at the time, so about the bottom fourth of the cartridge was unbothered...the rest of it looked like it was charcoal though, he he he.

yabobo 03-11-2004 04:07 AM

The one=thousnd and twenty five bid has been taken down:eek:
I guess someone didn't follow the sellars instructions:lol:

Still two hundred and seven is a lot of money!

floonine 03-18-2004 11:55 AM

This is just silly. I didn't spend more than $200 on MY haunted coke can.

aarchaon 03-19-2004 12:16 AM

That can is creepy. I'm pretty sure the cans are designed to never open that way.

qtpye4u84 03-19-2004 02:20 AM

WoW big deaL LOL i have done that all you got to do is when you open it open it a little drain the pop and grab a fork and be gential but mine dont look so pretty but theres so many ways or what ever some one did that probably

yabobo 03-19-2004 06:35 AM

Then bidding has ended. The lucky winner paid 212.50 US dollars.

Sorry to say that's more than I make in a week.

I need a new life.:(
