The 30 Second Mystery 46 - Where?
 

There are four categories: Who, What, Where and Why. Some will be easy, some not. I have as many as six clues to help you along, which I'll supply as needed.

Please limit yourself to one guess, and another guess for each clue I supply. No questions asking for help or hints are allowed. Partially correct answers won't be acknowledged.

Wild guesses and comments are fine. In fact, they can add to the mystery and are fun to read.

The Case:
A man's body is found 1000 feet below sea level. Drowning is not the cause of death.

The Mystery:
How and where did he die?

Umm, on impact when his plane crashed?

He froze to death in space.

Died of Thirst from drinking the water at the Dead Sea in Israel

yeah, I think dragonhawk got it, dang it... I'm too slow, curse these metal parts...

He died from dehydration in Death Valley.

Ran out of oxygen in a submarine, underwater

yea, pretty vauge, it could have been at the numerous dry land areas below sea level around the world, or even a man who got eaten by a shark!

This question may have been better phrased like: "wasn't near water" or something along those lines...

Oh, also, he could have been say shot above ground by the mob, and then given 'concrete boots' and sunk to the bottom of the sea

Not really, the only place in the world that in 1000 feet below sea level and not underwater is in the Jordan River valley along the shores of the Dead Sea. In comparison, Death Valley (in California) is only 200-250 feet below sea level.

Of course it is vague! That's the fun part! Hints 2 through 6 make it more and more specific. Have we reached 6 yet, ever?

Burial at sea?
