By 1936, he was manager of a small hotel in Mount Vernon, Washington and later became manager of Seattle’s Rainier Club, a prestigious private club in the U.S. Navy. He advanced to the rank of lieutenant commander in the Supply Corps. In 1946, he became assistant to the president of Western Hotels, and by 1969 he was chairman of the board. In 1970, Carlson became a director of Western International and UAL, Inc., the parent company of United Airlines. In 1975, he became chairman of the board and CEO of UAL, Inc. and United Airlines.
That's very good (and detailed) but I was hoping someone would notice that he is the designer of the Space Needle.

Carroll Spinney- The person inside the Big Bird costume and also the voice for Oscar The Grouch. He is also an artist and an author.

interesting...
Bette Nesmith Graham invented Liquid Paper!!
while working as a secretary in Dallas (she was originally an artist, but hey, you've got to pay the bills), Bette came up with the idea, and invented what she originally called, Mistake Out.
in 1958, she called her company Liquid Paper, and by 1980, she sold out for $48mil. nice.
she also was the mother of Monkee's band member Michael Nesmith.
apparently she was also a pioneer for American women in business at the time. she established two foundations devoted to encouraging womens involvement in business and art.

NEXT: Nick Bracegirdle

Bunny Wailer is the forgotten Wailer. Bunny Wailer and music legend are never mentioned in the same sentence. Bunny, however, is a music legend, let alone a reggae legend. Having just received the 1997 Grammy award, Bunny still has not gotten his just deserves.

Adrian Lamo is a computer hacker who used to be homeless and spent his spare time checking proxy settings on major websites for security holes. He gained quite a bit of notoriety by reporting these holes to the company and because he was homeless. Unfortunately, in 2002 he "hacked" the New York Times' computers and they pressed charges. He plead guilty in January and he will probably be sentenced to 6 to 12 months of home-confinement.
