The 30 Second Mystery 2 - Who?
There are four categories: Who, What, Where and Why. Some will be easy, some not. I have as many as six clues to help you along, which I'll supply as needed.
Please limit yourself to one guess, and another guess for each clue I supply. No questions allowed. Partially correct answers won't be acknowledged. Let's see how this goes. The Case: In the late 1960's, a person not known as a professional athlete performs a sporting feat for the first time in recorded history. Thousands of other people would be better at performing the feat than this person, yet the media covers the event and millions of people watch. The Mystery: Who is the person and where was the sport played? Last edited by Peetster; 01-15-2004 at 09:04 AM.. |

the 1971 Apollo 14 lunar mission commanded by Astronaut Alan B. Shepard...
" First golfer on the moon is he, Yet mad enough to pop. Because of the lack of gravity, The poor lad’s putt won't drop." - Richard Armour, Golf Is a Four-Letter Word (1962) "Thirty-two years have passed since our most famous amateur golfer astronaut, Alan B. Shepard, Jr., described the exagerrated distance of his moon shot as “miles and miles and miles.” Although Shepard fired off those two golf balls in moon gravity which is about one-sixth of earth's (moon fact sheet), they did not go miles and miles and miles..." pasturegolf.com
