Thats what I call coordination..
http://www.sparklet.com/~royce/trams/gamer.mpeg
Wasn't sure where to post it so I put it here.. let me know if it should go somewhere else. |
I now know how serious the Japanese take thier gaming
|
holy crap!
that took some serious practice! imagine all the children that could be fed with those quarters!!!! |
That's pretty cool. However, it's not as impressive as it seems (not to say it's not impressive, just that it's not as much as it seems). As a musician, I know that there are many people who are capable of moving that fast when they've practiced, and in this case the game is simply tapping the right keys for the right notes. In other words - it's basically just a different type of keyboard. So, since those are all songs that are fairly well known by musicians, he didn't have to do as much hard work as it seems. Of course, that's not to say he didn't have to do any, because I'm sure it took a lot of practice to get it up to that speed - but the sequence wouldn't be hard to memorize if he's a musician as well.
Anyways, I hope I didn't make it seem like I don't think that's cool - because I do - I certainly couldn't do it! |
I hope the arcade gave out tickets, and I hope the kid has millions. And then bought a car, or a computer, or something. That was absolutely amazing. He was playing Fur Elise, and then it'd break out into chaos. But he'd understand the chaos.
I propose a toast... |

It used to cost him and I nothing when we went to Playdium a few years ago. People would actually pay for the cost of the game, just to watch him play some of these "musical" games. And I could literally watch in amazement for hours. And when I got bored, I'd wander over to the row of Dance Dance Revolution, and laugh my ass off at the teenage Japanese kids who were amazing at that! :D |
Pretty impressive any way you put it. Yes there are some amazing musicians that can play that fast (think of people like Liberace, Szpilman, Chopin, etc...) but those are few and far between. Very impressive.
|
....wow
|
Damn... That's bloody good.
I'm a lowly bassist, so I am not required to move that fast (thankfully) but I have seen some guitarists who would be able to pull fo stuff like that. Sat, Mustain, Hammett, even a couple I played with. It's a whole different state of mind. |
 Dear lord. That is possibly the craziest, sickest, COOLEST thing i've seen in a long time.
|
it's sad to see talent go to waste. I mean can you beging to imagine the possibilities if was a proffesional Whack A Mole player?!
btw, i think that's spleen's cousin or something  |
Actually, I think if you look at it, you can tell he plays the piano. Look when he has to hit 4 keys at once how his hands are.
I want to try this game now.. I know I couldn't do that but it looks fun=P You need to hit the coresponding color button when a block of that color hits the line on the bottom. crazyness |
they need cooler arcade games in america, that looks like it costs to many quarters to master.
|
:O Wow, I know piano players can move that fast but that takes them years if not decades. This is pretty damn amazing for a video game.
|
I could barely tell what was going on with that guy & game moving so fast and the video so slow.. but I'm sure if I understood it I'd be impressed :)
|
That was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I have trained my hands to move really fast for all my sports (cricket, martial arts, baseball etc). I can cut flies out of the air with a envelope opener but I wouldn't be anywhere near this guys league. I am sincerely impressed. It reminds me of the Drizzt character in R. A. Salvatore's novel 'Homeland'. In a city full of ultra fast elves Drizzt is the fastest. That guy is drizzt. Im still amazed minutes after watching it. Cool!!!!
|
Man that's sick... I can uderstand that you train so hard to learn a real musical instrument but not an arcade game.. geez...
|
hmmm... like simon on crack... yeah.. SIMON. .you know the RED BLUE YELLOW GREEN button game from the 80's.
would have been more impressive had he been playing it on a piano. |
Have you ever seen some of those kids play Dance Dance Revolution? Think of that video, but you're playing with your feet instead of your hands
|
Eh, thats what I call spending way to much money. If I was going to spend lots of money like that it'd be on something like Time Crises or something. Yeah people that do DDR do some freaky stuff. Show me DDR of that stuff and I might applaud but the hand... thats.. no.
|
I was actually trying to dig up some DDR videos for you guys. These aren't too great, but they might be worth a look:
http://aaroninjapan.com/ddrvideos.html Scroll down and look at any video with the word MAX in it. The MAX series is the fastest in DDR; the slowest goes at 300 BPM, the fastest at 333. I can barely beat MAX300 myself. These guys hit every step on every one... |
I never really understood the fascination with these types of games. Actually, this is the first I've heard of this one, but I never understood DDR. I clicked on Sledge's link for the DDR videos... haven't watched any yet, but I did find this incredibly amusing.

Anyway, all that said, it was pretty impressive, although I'm more impressed with more traditional instruments. |
that does look such a boring game, maybe i'm missing the point but whatever, its impressive the hand eye coordination....
|
Different.
|
looks like a female
regardlessly, who's to say the sound isn't dubbed in? this smells like a hoax. i don't know this game, but then i don't play games often. |
