Know-it-alls unite here!

So, we all have one little piece of information floating around in or head that we just hold onto until one day we can just bust out and sound like we really know what we're talking about. I invite you now to share and be that expert that you've always wanted to be... Bring me your statistics, info, and huddled facts.

Did you know that if you lock your car doors, that you improve the structural integrity of your vehicle by 30%.

Yeah, I shoulda been involved in vehicle safety testing but I chose to be unemployed instead.

did you know that those fabric softener sheets that you throw in the dryer with your clothes can be used to clean out the lint trap & they are also nice for quick spot dusting furniture!

don't throw your used dryer sheets away - stuff them in a basket for other uses later.

Did you know that the first song played on MTV was "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles.

Ok, that is a pretty useless piece of information.

Hey galaxygirl- I don't think that info is useless! I was a rep for MTV on the West Coast when we debuted- it was a major step in music that day! And I know there is at least one other TFP/MTVer here!
So when bparker805 wins $20,000.00 on "Jeopardy" because of your post, remember to ask for half of it!

Did you know that ERCOT (the controlling agency for electric deregulation in Texas) is instituting a new flat load rate schedule for the oil industry? :)

And yes, I know it is boring, and it isn't supposed to be announced until next week sometime.

Did you know that the origin of the phrase, "rull of thumb" comes from Victorian era laws. Men were allowed to beat their wives as long as they used anything smaller than the width of their thumb.

That is why I prefer the phrase, "general rule."

Before wearing hose for the first time wash by hand using a gentle detergent. After washing and squeezing out, roll hose into a ball and wrap with plastic wrap. Place in freezer until frozen. Take out of freezer, allow to thaw, and then hang to dry as usual. Works wonders for preventing runs, thus saving money!

Extending Pantyhose Life
When you get a small run in your pantyhose above the ankle, mark an x on the inside tag with a marker. That lets you know to wear that pair with slacks.

Alternative to Dryer Sheets
Instead of spending money on dryer sheets you can make your own. In a spray bottle mix one part fabric softener and one part water, then shake to mix. Spray a clean, old washcloth about five or six times and use in your dryer to prevent static cling. You may use the same cloth over and over again.

Give Those Shipping Charges the Boot
When ordering shoes online I have them shipped to a store near my home. This saves me several dollars in shipping charges on each order.

Recycling Your Shoes
invest" in a pair of Nikes but always keep the original box in which they were purchased. Nikes has a lifetime guarantee on their shoes so whenever they rip, tear, fall apart, I just pack them up and send them into Nikes. Nikes sends me back a new pair of shoes that is the closest available style that I had originally purchased. The only cost to you is shipping.
