This thread is going to be filled with nothing but positivity and freeflowing love.

For those who aren't jaded, funked out, depressed or hopeless......come to this thread and post little motivational / inspirational sayings. Something - few words, poem, joke, etc - something that would make someone chuckle if they were bogged down at work and tweaking out on coffee and Nutra Sweet and they had 3 deadlines that ended 30 minutes ago.

One post could be like shot of wholesomeness for someone's soul. An instant break in the clouds. You get what I'm saying.

k, ummmm.... " Bad things happen only so good things can."

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Pencil out 4 hours this weekend just for yourself. Cell phones - OFF. TV's - OFF. Computers - REST. Other doohickies - NOT ALLOWED. Ladies as well as men, this will be pamper day. Trim / manicure your fingers and toes. Make a paste with handfuls of oil (olive, sesame, jojoba, grapeseed, etc.) and sea salt and rough it all over your body before getting in the shower to wash it off. Wash your hair and weather pending, sit outside and let the sun dry it. Brew your favorite tea, pour a glass of your favorite cabernet or make a fresh pot of your favorite coffee and enjoy. Put on your most comfortable rags for the day that are fairly acceptable to wear in public. Here you have a choice - go buy ONE lavish gift item for yourself or go on a SHOPPING SPREE in a dollar store. Not both. And proceed from there.

Hell, make if 5 hours if you must.

No, seriously...I am glad that I have a place such as TFP to come to. It has opened up the world for me.

If I could, I would reach through the Internet and squeeze you all with hugs galore.

That's sweet.

I'm still new - no question about that. So I've yet to make irl bff's or anything. But I have to admit that learning about some of you by text, pics and smileys alone has been a treat.

What a great thread!

I have two things for you all, but am too much of a newbie to post links, so...

1.
Go to YouTube and type in:

marlonsmom

then click on the link.
2.
Go to YouTube and type in:

Ray Bethell (Multiple Kite Champion)

and click on the link. The choreography is amazing, and the music is so beautiful... I get a bit misty every time I watch it.

Enjoy!
