I can taste my own weiner (Pics!)
This is what I had for dinner. I took a local brew and boiled some hotdogs in it. Some might say that it's a waste of a beer -but I have plenty.
First you need some simple ingredients. I like Trader Joes brand stuff: Those would be honey wheat hotdog buns. Pour the entire bottle in and add a little water. Be sure to poke holes in the weiners with a fork -it'll let the beer in. You might want to have an extra beer handy -to drink. While my wieners are boiling get the buns ready: You might want to drink another beer at this point. This time see how fast you can drink it. The trick is to open up your throat, but there is no shotgunning from a bottle.... unless you're crazy. Now that your weiners are boiling you should drink another beer. This time slowly, savor the flavor. If you drink it too fast -you might want to drink another one. The reason is that the weiners need time to cook. Carefully load the weiners into the buns. If you burn your hand at this point -you will need to get a cold beer out of the refridgerator. Hold it against the burn. Open it and drink it. Much better now... time to taste my weiner. |

Excellent D.I.Y. guide and technical article...congrats and thanks.
Though I love a good hotdog, I don't have time for it right now, so I'll just have a few beers to remind me how good they are...one as a toast to you. |

I'm printing this quote from you and handing it in to our personnel department to justify taking off a couple sick days this week. Do you also give out prescriptions...or may I assume that a few hotdogs and beers will make me feel better? |

IMPORTANT!
There actually is a way to shotgun a bottle of beer, and I feel that I must let you all know. You need only one item... One plastic straw with the bend in it. Now all you do is stick the straw into the beer and hold it to the side, the bend comes out the mouth of the beer and you bend in so that it goes back up the neck of the bottle. Then you just form a seal around the mouth of the beer, with the straw hanging out the top, tilt er back and chug! The straw allows air to enter the bottle, and you can drink it down in about 2-4 seconds. MUCH more efficient and less messy than shotgunning a can. Now you all must go out and shotgun from a bottle with your newfound skill!!! |

You are right although it's a little awkward with the straw sticking out of the bottle. Quote:

That tunamelt looks disgusting. But then again, I don't eat tuna. The bread looks tasty, though.
Nifty idea to make hot dogs in beer. I'll pass that one on to friends.

Huh, I was always told to use shitty beer to cook my brauts and weiners, and thus kept a supply of Diet Budwiser on hand to fill this role, and I reserve the Kiltlifter for drinking. Have I been, as the internet kids say these days, doing it wrong? Inquiring minds wish to know.
