(just to add in a bit of conversation: I watched this great special on PBS a week ago about horses, their lives after racing, and how they can help rehabilate some incarcerated inmates throughtout the country; the special was called 'Homestretch').  Horse by ~ArtificialLife

As a preface, sorry I'm posting more than one picture, but they're all so interesting

 Amazon Expedition Discovers Dozens of New Animals Sporting a flashy pattern of lavender on black, this newfound species of toad is among two-dozen animals that scientists discovered recently in the highlands of the northern Amazon. Among the new creatures are four frogs, six species of fish, a dozen kinds of dung beetles, and a type of ant never before seen by scientists. Researchers made the finds during a survey of remote plateaus in eastern Suriname from 2005 to 2006 More Portrayals ( please link only the one picture above, though)  Let's Be Friends!
