So where the bloody hell are ya?

Might as well have a meet n greet thread again seeing as though we've been given our area back (thanks Hal!).

I'm from Deniliquin, but have been living in Albury/Wodonga for the past 4 years and have just moved down to Frankston. If any of you know of any other shitholes I've missed along the way please let me know so I can plug up any holes in my resume (and yes I've already lived in Moree). I've been working in a cardboard box factory for the last 3 years but have nearly finished my accounting degree (which I started in 1998... I'd like to thank Goldeneye, MarioKart 64, Civ2, and the Duke of Kent Hotel in Wagga for extending my studies) so I've moved to Melb to finally count beans.

I go for Essendon, Canterbury, the Waratahs, and me and my mates have found out they sell full-strength beer at the National Hockey Centre so we're going to become Melbourne Kestral members.

Oh, and I know ella's real name.

spindles 02-04-2007 07:23 PM

still in the same place as before. I live in Asquith in Northern Sydney - been here 4 years. I've finally been able to pony up to join the local golf club and have been slowly working on pushing my handicap out to the club maximum (yep, I am in fact a shit golfer). My grand plan is to have it (my handicap) down to 20 by year end. Small children means my time and money to devote to this is not a lot, but I do sneak out to play on a Wednesday arvo.

I work from home for a UK based software company - hence the ability to sneak out and also to spend more time than I should on here and other favourite internet hangouts :)

Now where is our kalgoorlie friend to start a new map of where we all are?

Meri and I have the Waratahs and (NRL) Bulldogs in common - but I'm a carlton supporter whenever I care enough about AFL to take note (which given their recent form hasn't been often :D)

dlish 02-05-2007 01:25 AM

well well well.. its 3 out of 3 for NRL bulldog supporters here.

im in bankstown in sydneys sth west. been in the area my whole life..was born down the road and went to school across the rd from the same hospital.. i know what your thinking, its sounds like a lame life, but ive been out and about.

as i posted earlier, im leaving sydney in two weeks ( i go on the 19th of feb) two weeks from today. im just finishing off a project (i run my own construction company), but im sick of the stress and sleepless nights. im officially an insomiac.

so i decided that for the sake of my own health and wellbeing ill work in dubai for a little while and see how it goes. was offered a generous package, so im gonna try my luck for a little bit and see how it goes.

other than barracking for the doggies, i also follow the swans when they are in the finals. i totally despise the aussie cricket team for winning all the time, but i guess thats better than losing to the pommies.

wheres the resta yaz

Here I am in outer western Sydney - St Marys. I have all the ingredients to make me a fine bogan - Harley, tattoos, guns ( I shoot pistol, rifle and shotgun matches)
and a 'number 1' haircut. Used to have the regulation goatee, but then I joined the Army reserve, and they'll only let you have a mo, and, as all real men know, a moustache is gay.
Self employed plasterer, learning to fly helicopters and small planes (bloody expensive!), I haven't been trapped into marriage and hopefully never will,
though I have come close a couple of times. Go to the gym three times a week - not trying to be an Arnie, just keepin' it trim. Not into the footy. At all. Of any variety.
Since the Oz forum disappeared many moons ago I just lost the vibe for coming here.

slimshaydee 02-07-2007 10:51 PM

Still in the eastern suburbs of Melb, where I've been all my bloody life. Finished my degree in banking & finance at the end of last year and am about to embark on the search for a job after a long hard summer of drinking piss and playing poker.

Tigerlily 02-07-2007 11:18 PM

Currently residing in Brisvegas, about 5 minutes from Brisbane CBD. I moved here just over 3 years ago, before that it was Melbourne, and before that briefly Darwin, and before that Melbourne with a few stints overseas drinking and (let's be honest) slutting my way around the world with a backpack on.

I work in Management at a not-for-profit organisation up here, and most days I like it, some days I bear it, and others, I'd just like to stab myself in the face with paperclips to ease the frustration of it all. Just like everyone else I guess.

I found TFP by accident on bigboards.com was looking for a fun place to hang out and waste time, but I think it's going to end badly... I think it's a little bit too serious and self-applauding for me. :(

ryfo 02-07-2007 11:28 PM

residing in Melbourne also, always have, probably will cark it here too! Machine operator and motorcycle mad. Glad the Aus board is back, have missed having an Aussie corner in here ......

dlish 02-08-2007 01:50 AM

tigerlily

they've brought back the aussie forum just in time here cos we've got the best 'cunt thread' where anything goes. i know it sounds like most people out there are serious (you must be on the politics board)..but us aussies arent as high strung as our yankee cousins. here anything goes... sit back relax and enjoy

spindles 02-08-2007 03:00 AM

tigerlily - maybe you need to spend more time here or in nonsense - really not overly serious in either place :)

aKula 02-08-2007 05:18 AM

Seems to be a greater frequency of "what's happening to this forum?" panic threads. They die down after a while. Better to just get on with the posting. On that note: I live in Melbourne.

Tigerlily 02-08-2007 11:15 PM

Oh, and really, fuck you all NRL jesus.......

GOOD OLD COLLINGWOOD FOREVER!

Yeah, I wondered if all the Seppo's were born with a rod up their arse, or whether it was inserted later.
Thank fuck the Oz forum is here to save us all.

TIO 02-10-2007 08:50 PM

Born in Gladstone, Queensland. Have lived in Melbourne and the USA, now I call Perth home (living in the half-arsed nightclub district, about 5 minutes walk from the CBD).

I support the Lions and the Western Force. I gave up following the NRL a while ago because as a Broncos fan, it was just too boring.

Ella 02-11-2007 08:54 PM

Wel, most of you bastards know me from yonks back, but I'm Ella (yeah, yeah, Meri knows and I know his too) and I live in BrisVegas too - also around 5kms from the CBD!

Born and bred in wonderful Melbourne town, moved to Tassie and then up to QLD 10 years ago. Have two gorgeous girls and a man who loves me (we've been together two years now....who'dve thunk it??) and I'm a government spook.

And I can drink. Oh yes....I can drink.

Yep. Disappeared like a fart in the breeze. Will probably go the way of the Dodo again.
Oops, there I go being all negative again.

Meridae'n 03-13-2007 10:11 PM

Yep, rare event that.

Didn't you tell us once you were from Norfolk once Bundy? Maybe you were just trying to get a shag out of Ella yet again...

bundy 03-14-2007 04:56 AM

well you can't blame a bloke fer trying haha...

yes, norfolk it is... but its a tad embarassing when their abbreviation at the commonwealth games is NFI...

Meridae'n 03-14-2007 05:07 AM

Knew a bloke at uni who wore a Norfolk Island league jumper around... know anyone who's last name is Geddies?

Leto 03-16-2007 10:02 AM

you guys talk funny! I mean that in a good way...

Which is closer to Australia: Hawaii, Korea or Sri Lanka? That's how close I've come. I've been to Collingwood too, but that was to go skiing, and it is north of Toronto... cheers!

cchris 03-16-2007 07:07 PM

Geeez I picked a good time to come out of hibernation..............

I'm still me,older, definatly none the wiser and still reckon the best thing to come out of Melbourne is the Hume highway.

I'm fucked if I know why I left this place but I got the shits with the internet as a whole and threw the cunt of a thing I called a pc out the window.
I'm back here every now n then and it's good to see the Aussie forum thingo has been put back and some familiar faces.

Might get a new avtar whatsit too while Im at it.

Charlatan 03-17-2007 07:12 AM

Holy Shit! cchris! Good to see you.

It has been ages and ages.

Welcome back.

Latch 03-21-2007 09:06 PM

I'm Latch the local Seppo. I'm the one who (in the old area) went through all the dramas of getting a Permanent Residency visa. 3 years at Deakin Uni in Geelong (near Melbourne...). 2 years working in Geelong.

After 1-2 years of having my PR, I decided to pick up and move back to the States. Probably one of the worse decisions I've ever made.. I can't wait to get back down there.. 3-week holiday there in June is the best I've got at the moment.

I'm still going to post here, even though I'm not in Oz atm... good to see all you guys again, for sure. It's weird to see all these old names (with the same avatars ;) ) come out of retirement.

Cunts.

Most of us Aussie's had no reason to change our avatars, we had no where to post to show them off ;)

Ella 03-22-2007 11:49 PM

Nice to see all you cunts again.

Woops...wrong thread.

Meridae'n 03-27-2007 07:01 AM
