Gomery - What ever happened to you??
Mr. Justice Gomery.
You had the entire nation entranced for over a year. You were the Canadian media's dream come true. A true, real life scandal. Heck, you even made the American media, and that doesn't happen too often. You ruined the career, or at least cut short the career, of a guy named Paul Martin who fell victim to your spotlight. A guy generally acknowledged to be a very decent guy by everyone apparently when they aren't on camera grandstanding and pandering (Jake Layton). Oh Mr. Gomery, where are you now? How is it that there was so much widespread corruption and not a single politician has paid the price? How is it that not a single politician has even been charged? Oh Mr. Gomery, where are you now? Yes, sure, they threw that idiot Chuck Gite in jail for a few months (is he out yet?) and there was that other guy who ran that ad agency in Quebec that they threw in jail for a few months (is he out yet?), but really, no-one seems to have been arrested who was behind the stealing now have they? Oh Mr. Gomery, where are you now? And Stephen Harper? You and your minions - Peter McKay (the lover of dogs) (Speaking of which, there seems to be more of an uproar in parliament about a jaded boyfriend calling his ex a dog than there is about prosecuting those behind adscam?) Steve and Petie made such a big noise about adscam, and Gomery, and liberals, and transparency, and accountability, but where are you now? Now that Steve and Petie are in power, Mr. Gomery, you matter not. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2006/...rship-new.html |
It is a fascinating turn of events.
It seems the self-flagelating Liberals under Paul Martin were more interested in persecution for ad-scam than the current executive branch. Could it be that the current exec branch is more interested in the status quo rather enacting Gomery's suggestings and limiting their options? |
I mean, it isn't possible for themto be corrupt. They are angels of virinity and purity!
:) |
What was I thinking? Of course, that is exactly why...
|
Wasn't the investigation just a way for Paul Martin to try to get Chretien?
It was all Liberal infighting. Alfonso Gagliano payed the price and a few CEOs but that is it. |
