Do Disc Jockeys ever get together?
 

I'm an amateur DJ, without a gig. Not that I'm looking for one actively, but it would be nice. ;) I find that I am happiest behind the decks, whether I'm playing for myself, for people who wish to listen to my stream or for those fortunate enough to hear me live at a party. I love to play house music. I feel it every time. No one subgenre of house will do for me, either. Disco, funk, deep, acid...it doesn't matter. What I can't figure out is if there are any groups or clubs for DJs like myself. People that like talking music, not neessarily in the club scene or what have you. People that like to hear other DJs spin, or give tips, advice, etc.

Does anyone know of something like this in the GTA (preferrably close to KW/Guelph/Cambridge)?

I'd look for your local electronica/rave forum... the one in calgary is electrocalgary.com
Not sure what yours would be sorry.. but it's a good place to find local dj's.
Another option is to hang out in record stores (proper ones) and meet people that way..
