Russian tunnel

Got this in an email and thought it was wild! It might be old footage(I don't know), but none the less, it's pretty extreme.

This 3150 m long tunnel in Russia is the longest in-city tunnel of Europe.
There is a river running over it and water leaks at some points. When the
temperature reaches -38 degrees like it did this winter, the road freezes
and the result is the attached video taken during a single day with the
tunnel camera.

I wouldn't like to be on that bus..

I think I'd stay home... what do you think?

Whoa.

That's crazy.

I'd rather just take a boat on the river.

I wouldn't call it bad d riving. It's the result of there being ice on the road in the tunnel that causes people to spin out.

Not necessarily bad, but definitely aggressive. It was funny watching people follow a rolled but still-sliding bus as if to say "come on buddy, one side or the other!" I think it was a couple trucks that rolled and immediately people are trying to pull around while parts were still raining down. No rubber-neckers there!

It looked as if drivers there see that kind of thing all the time....the drivers behind the delivery truck that flipped put their signals on so they could get over and around it...

Spinning out during know icy road conditions (winter driving) could be considered bad driving IMO. Anyone driving that fast during winter deserves to wipeout. But whatever.

If, as the OP said, these wipeouts all happened in one day, cudos go to the wrecking crews on that HWY. I wish the crews around here could clean up a flipped truck or six a day that fast.

I have never liked driving through tunnels. Now I see why. I noticed the same thing Medusa, the following drivers couldn't wait to get around the accident and go on their merry way.

Wow that was pretty crazy. I agree some of those drivers were really crazy. If there was ice on the road and it is known that conditions could be that bad there then why on earth were they driving so damn fast?

I'd bet most of those drivers are thinkin, "hey, I'm in a tunnel. Why the hell would there be any ice in here?"
