King Vitamin Fruity Pebbles Lucky Charms Now: Rains Brand Cheerios Fruity Pebbles I refuse to fully grow up. |
Raisin Nut Bran
Coco Krispies Kashi's Raisin My weird quirk is I refuse to drink the rest of the milk in the bowl after I've eaten all the cereal. It just tastes wrong. And every bite has to have some cereal, and I try to get a raisin in every one. |
Lucky Charms with milk
|
My favorites are Life cereal, and Kashi's Autumn Wheat (the best shredded wheat cereal known to man)
However, I refuse to eat them with milk. I always have a tupperware container full of cereal at work to much through my day :) |
For better or for worse my All-Bran has become my favorite cereal
|
LIFE with a ton of sugar.
and then i switched to alphabits for a while... then it was 5bowls of raisin brans a day.... after thats, i went with life mixed with shreddies... with a ton of sugar. then just recently, i started eating cereals again.. alphabits are still as good! but i'm lactose intolerent. :s so it sucks whenever i eat em with milk. |
Kix! Simple and tasty! Kid tested, mother approved! et cetera, et cetera!

As a kid: Frosted Mini Wheats (my mom was anti artificial coloring, so no Froot Loops or Lucky Charms for me). But I think I OD'ed on the stuff because I can't stand looking at it anymore. Nowadays: Total, Cornflakes, Raisin Bran (Flakes taste so much better than wheat squares.) Caveat, I gotta have Lactaid milk with my cereal. Somewhere between kid and adult, my body became increasingly lactose intolerant, or I just noticed it more...or at the very least, my friends noticed it more. Lactaid milk makes tastes so much sweeter that I don't need to add any sugar. |
Good to know other people keep adding cereal until the milk is no more.
Asta!! |
Rice crispies. So simple, yet sooo good.

Using a regular dinner spoon it takes 2 and a half Honey combs to use up a dinner spoon of milk. |
crunchy nut cornflakes (no sugar) or just right (no sugar & canned peaches on top) yummmmmmm

I woke up early this morning remembering the distinct taste of Rice Krispies even though I haven't had any for over a year :(
Tomorrow I start on a box of Cap'n Crunch. Tomorrow will be a good day. |

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think my favorite cereal as a smooth young boy was definitely Kix, the first "puffed" cereal. Now as a not-really-well-adjusted-but-still-functioning-grown-up, I cannot get enough of all the different off-shoots of Post's Honey Bunches of Oats. Bunches w/ strawberries or bunches w/ peaches are divine; what's better is if I buy both and empty them into one bowl. What's more: I know some others classify their bigger spoons as "soup spoons", but I can't deal with cartoon-sized spoons; instead, I only stock medium-sized, nearly isometric oval spoons, which are my ideal "cereal spoons". And, if you needle through my list above, you'll notice my underlying predilection to readymade cereals is that I much prefer cereals that can withstand the cold, moistness of the milk relatively sound and unscathed. I don't like a big soppy mess in my bowl, so I respect the cereals that "crunch throughout" the meal more than those that do not. Oh, and I always refill the bowl to fully consume the remaining deposits of milk that may have been left behind. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1081/...afcb7b5179.jpg |
Since no one seems to be counting calories, i'd have to admit that i have a major weakness for:
Nature's Path Organic Pumpkinseed FLAX PlUS Granola with Omega-3 Fatty-acids (not the one with raisins). It's EXTREMELY healthy and delish if you ignore the calories (very sweet). It helps a little that i use skim milk i guess. Now here's a quirky thing i do... i add an icecube because i like the milk refreshingly cold...mmm :paranoid: |
|
These days? Anything granola based with added cocoa.

I prefer Nature's Path Heirloom Grains. The pumpkinseed granola goes really well sprinkled on top :) It's sort of like a healthier version of my original favorite. |

I like Grape Nuts heated for 25 seconds in the microwave, with a small drizzle of honey. Peanut Butter Captain Crunch (have to nuke that one, to soften it. |
I don't like cereal, either when I was a kid or now. I don't know if it's because it's floating in milk or what but I never, ever eat it and simply don't like it.
On the other had, my husband loves cereal and sometimes will have it for dessert while watching TV. Captain Crunch Original flavor, or Captain Crunch Peanut Butter are his favorites. But he will eat the "flaky" type of cereal with like nuts and/or fruit in it. Also, Life Original, Golden Grahams and on occasion, I've seen him eat Froot Loops. |
Froot Loops
Life Golden Grahams Peanut Butter Captain Crunch Kashi Go Lean Archer Farms Hi-Protein Multigrain MultiGrain Cheerios Rice Krispies Cracklin' Oat Bran... though I read the nutrition info in college and never touched them again. Red Berries Lucky Charms Total Raisin Bran Honey Nut Cheerios Frosted Flakes Granolas of all kinds Peanut Butter Puffins I became lactose intolerant for good in August... could formerly tolerate skim milk, but no longer. I usually keep a box of something in the car because I eat breakfast and lunch on the run so much. Usually just dry, high fiber cereal, but I do love all the ones I listed. |
Clearly in the US you have a much wider variety of cereal and cereal brands than I can get here in Portugal. But my favourite is definitely Kellogg's Crunchy Nut. Peanut and Honey, yum. Even so, I am usually not a cereal fan. I do like to eat dry cereal by the handful - specifically Kellogg's Special K Dark Chocolate.
|
I like oatmeal with a few pecans or walnuts. With real cream.:) Blueberries in season. Sometimes I'll have Grape-Nuts steeped in hot water for a minute or so. Then drain the water and add cream. I've never tried ItWasMe's microwave method. Do you heat them dry??
I'll drink skim, but absolutely hate skim (blue) milk on flake cereals. It seems to turn it into a soggy mess in about ten milliseconds. Lindy |

I haven't eaten cereal in a few months, I haven't been in the mood. When it strikes me I will eat cereal all the time.
Chocolate and regular Lucky Charms, Kix, Trix, Corn Pops, Cheerios, Homey Bunches of Oats with almonds, Corn Chex, Captian Crunch with Crunchberries, and Coca Crispies. There are others, but I can't think of them at the moment. |
I don't know how I managed to miss this one before. I'm a cereal fiend, I blame it on my parent's for only allowing Farina, Puffed wheat and rice, oatmeal and wheat germ in our house. The only time I got to eat sugar cereals was at friends houses or as a treat when camping. I went through a sugar cereal rebellion when I moved out on my own.:D
Oddly, I still like some sugary ones but tend to prefer the lightly sweetened or unsugary ones now (pretty sure they all have some small amount of sugar). My favorites are Corn Bran, Life*, Cheerios (reg* and honey*), Golden Grahams, Wheaties*, Cornflakes*, and Raisin Bran. The rest in my list are all the others that I really like. I'm sure if I stood in the cereal isle I'd probably have a few more to add. Honeycomb Corn Pops Rice* and Corn Chex* Apple Jacks* Cracklin' Oat Bran Cap'n Crunch (org*, peanut butter* and Crunchberries) Crispix* Fruity Pebbles* Mini-Wheats* Cinnamon Toast Crunch Rice Crispies Lucky Charms Honey Smacks GrapeNuts Any full fat Granola* Post Toasties (I can't find them anymore) For hot cereals I love Cream of Wheat with a little butter, cream and brown sugar, CoCo Wheats and any of the instant oatmeals of the cinnamon/apple/brown sugar varieties. *All of the asterisked cereal's are currently in my pantry as well as the hot ones. Also a box of BooBerry I bought on a whim and don't like. Sometimes I feel like Jerry Seinfeld. |

Alf's Natural Nutrition brand Red Wheat Cereal.
Ingredient: Whole Red Wheat. http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/07...61_500X500.jpg Think "Honey Smacks" without the sugar! I loved this stuff years ago when I first came across it in a Smith's grocery in Utah. Adore it now that I live in Ohio, even if the only place that stocks it around here is Wal-Mart. Since I spent the past several years yearning for the stuff when I couldn't find it in the stores in California, you can imagine my joy when I found it again. |
