Best Damn Chilli ever!

1 can good beer (bass/guinness, etc.)
2 lbs. ground beef
3 white onions
10 jalapeno peppers
2 poblano chillis
1 clove garlic
1 red/yellow bell pepper
1 bunch green onions
15 roma tomatoes
1-2 cans tomato paste
Several dried chillis if you can get them
1 can pinto beans
juice of 1/2 lime

worstershire
chilli powder
paprika
salt
pepper
hersheys dark chocolate (yes, really)
habanero peppers

----------------

In a medium pot, brown the ground beef with the onions (chopped). Stir frequently to break up the meat.
Chop the peppers and garlic, add them to the pot. Add chopped habaneros to taste.

Add approx. 1/2 the beer and allow the mixture to simmer along with some worstershire, paprika, pepper, salt, the lime juice, and lots of chilli powder.

While this mixture is cooking down, dice the tomatoes and add them to the pot, along with the tomato paste. When this starts to cook down add about 1 oz. of hersheys special dark chocolate.

Let the chilli cook down for several hours, then season as necessary. Add the beans shortly before serving and serve over rice or spaghetti.

___________

The chocolate seems wierd, but it tastes really good as long as you use very little. I was reading a bunch of chilli recipies, and many of the award winning recipies included some unsweetened chocolate. I used hersheys special dark because it was what I had on hand, and it worked fine.

Feel free to experiment with different peppers, but dont' use any serranos.

I hope this tastes as good for someone else as it did for us!

we use a similar recipe, my dad is the cheif chili maker, and its diff every time, usualy go with cut up round steak in stead of ground beef. Also mix about 50/50 with chopped up venison steak.

About 5 dried chili peppers (home grown) while cooking
3 more about an hour before serving

other then that pretty much the same minus chocolate
