My beer taste changes with the season. This summer it was Corona in a glass with a big damn hunk of lime. Now that it's getting colder I find Schell's Octoberfest is doing it for me. Schell's is a brewery in New Ulm MN, not far from me. They also have a good bock.

I was drinking Corona or San Miguel this Summer with a chunk of lime jammed into the bottle, but now the winter draws in I'm opting for Starpraomen (Czech lager), on tap a pint of this is refreshing not too 'hoppy' in taste and cuts out all the chemically taste that too often accompanys bad Stella... hmmmm... drunk!

top five...in no order, as it varies by mood.

Summit EPA
James Page Iron Range Amber
Big Sky Honey Summer Ale
Corona
Sprecher's Amber

That said, the list will change in a week. Summit and James Page have my loyalty as a Minnesota boy, but i rarely buy the same import or microbrew twice. at that price, i want variety. i'd rather get dissapointed once in while than always be drinking the same stuff.

I always go looking for a close microbrewery and order the darkest beer they offer. Usually a stout. Other places Becks, St. Pauli or Guiness with do just fine.

I have got to say that Miller Lite is still my favorite - although I find myself sampling a bit more variety of beers than I did a few years ago.

I think I've posted before stating that my favourite beer was guiness, well it still is a great beer, however it has been unseated by an awesome beer called Tilburg's Dutch Brown Ale. You guys really need to try this one. It's just fantastic!!

Sleemans Honey Brown, Rickards Red, Newcastle Brown, Granville Island Brown Ale or anything brown.

Amstel Light, Pyramid Pale Ale

The only beer I've thrown away: Pilsner Urquell. Bought a 6 and could not stand it from the first sip. The wife tried one with the same reaction. So, after a year of having 4 bottles sit on my shelf, I dumped them.

I have a hard time picking favorites, as I live in the PacNW where micros are plentiful. More or less locally, I enjoy Rogue Mocha Porter, Rogue Chocolate Stout, McMenamins Terminator Stout, Great White by Lost Coast, Mac and Jack's African Amber...well, I could go on and on and on. Luckily for me there's a place here in town that has $2 micro pints on Tuesdays... :P

If someone else is buying and it's on tap, I go for Smithwick's or Guinness. You can't go wrong there.

its usualy between Richards Red and Alexander Keiths for me.

and i agree with those who are saying you shuldnt count corona if limes are required (which in my opinion, they definatly ARE). if you have to add something to a beer to make it taste good well, why not just get a beer that tastes good initialy?
meh, whatever

Carona? ugh. I like my beer to taste like, well...beer. Kilkenny is a good place to start. Any good micro (i.e. non corporate-brew) Ale or Pilsner and even a hearty Pale Ale is good.

But it's gotta taste like beer!

I really don't like beer too much, meh. I dunno, I guess it's too much of an acquired taste. Plus, I only drink on very rare occasions [maybe once a month, if that].

If I do have it, I'd prefer Oberon [local kalamazoo stuff] or great lakes [in cleveland].

I shudder when people drink cheap things that they think it's good just because it's popular [bud, mgd, etc.] I don't care if it's cheap and the only thing available, I'd rather not drink at all than drink the cheap stuff.

Corona is just so watered down... and the color is absolutely well - not beer like...

Lately... I've been drinkin' Smuttynose India Pale Ale, it's local to me, so I try to support them... It's pretty good.

Vermont is close enough to local. Magic Hat has a bunch of tasty flavors...

if not I'll stick with the stand by's of Blue Moon or Killian's Irish Red...

Hmmmm, so hard to narrow it down to one, so I won't...

Stone Brewing Co.
If you live in Southern California, get your hands on Arrogant Bastard Ale, (and in the winter, Double Bastard ale and Russian Imperial Stout) this is a real beer drinker's beer. All of Stone's stuff is extremely flavorful, whichever style you try. If you like bitter beers, their line of pale ales and ESB's are right up your alley.

North Coast Brewing
Very good representations of just about all styles, Especially the darker brews.

Winter Brews
Just about any "Winter Ale" as long as the "special" ingrtedient is not some fruit. Traditional winter ales are just brewed longer and with more malt/grain, not necessarily infused with fruit, yuck.

Hefeweizen, plenty of good ones around, Pyramid is a good domestic, easy to find and not too pricey. And to whomever started the "tradition" of putting a goddamn slice of lemon in a hefe, you suck. If I wanted citrus, I'd have ordered a lemonade.

Abita Purple Haze - slightly rasberry, very tasty- I could drink a whole six pack in one sitting!
Pyramid Apricot Weizen -also fruity, I like how the flavor changes as it warms up
Sweetwater Blue -My favorite beer to enjoy while smoking a hookah at Asheville's hookah bar- Hookah Joe's
Farmer Ted's Cream Ale -By far, my absloute favorite!

Yes, I am a totally girly beer drinker! I'll try anything, but I prefer smooth, creamy beers and ones that are fruity as well.
