I just saw this and did a search, I wanted to post the story too. She was a talented lady.
And umm... last night I was wondering with my Dad who might complete the "trifecta" of celebs dying in 3's. Rick James, Fay Wray and... Julia Child. Sorry, Julia. I didn't mean to kill you.... |
I didnt mean to get the jump on ya Averett!! (blame the cnn email alerts lol)
Dave and I were talking about the same thing in bed last nite right before we went to sleep.... |
I'd say that Tilted Cooking is most appropriate. Thank you, ShaniFaye.

I used to love the French Chef, especially the early versions when I'm pretty certain she was nipping at the cooking sherry.
She was a woman after my own heart, a total slob in the kitchen :) But seemed like a neat lady. |
one of the projects I was working on was the searchable video database...
I used to examine this one quite thoroughly, which was all of Julia's shows. enjoy! http://www.pbs.org/juliachild/video.html |
I don't choke up often on hearing of someone's passing, but this lady can't be replaced. She once described her ultimate meal as "Red meat and a bottle of gin".
|
She and the "Gallopping Gourmet" allowed me to enjoy and appreciate real cooking. She will be missed!!!!
|
I got a lot of tips from her. The best memory though was of John Candy and Martin Short doing a boxing parody of her and Mr Rogers. Still blows me away.

I think it was great that she was so adamantly opposed to the atkins diet and all those retarded trend diets.
everything in moderation. the fact that she ate everything she wanted to and lived to 91 just goes to show that those people are , in fact , retarded. |
