Homebrew

Anyone ever try to brew their own beer? I'm working on my first batch now. I'm looking for your opinions/experiences.

I brewed for a number of years - my first couple of batches pretty much sucked, but after 3-4 they started to get good - the biggest advice I can give you is don't get hung up on trying to brew the strongest beer you can. They can be tricky and they take a long time to become drinkable. Also use pure liquid yeast cultures - that makes the single biggest difference in the taste of homebrew. The difference between liquid and dry yeast is much bigger than the difference between extract and whole-grain beer.

I bought a kit so who knows how it'll turn out. Thanks for the reply

I've been brewing for 6 years. I've made perhaps sixty or seventy beers and a couple of meads. I'm happy to answer questions, but not so good on straight out advice, except for one thing:

Clean and Sanitize EVERYTHING, and do it well. That will make more difference in your beer than any other single thing you can do.

Np! I remebered seeing that awhile back, while it does not pertain to recipe specifics, its a damn good thread.
