LOL I have friends that manage the Food Network Studio in NY.... all the preps that go on for that stage.... amazing.
back to her... I have beef with the US$40 a day... it doesn't include tip nor taxes.. and they are going to specific places... if they did tax and tip.. they only get to go to 2 places instead of 3-4. otherwise I think she's cute, but not much of a chef, I cook better and use the same short cuts, time savers that she's been doing, AND I also do the dishes, which she doesn't have to since there are production assistants to do that menial work.

The 40 dollars a day show is bullshit!
No taxes, no tips and she drinks water! She is also so annoying as she tries to convince you how easy something is. Sorry, she just says and acts in ways that just make me change the channel.

She always seems like she's high. If you look beyond the obvious flaws, both of her shows are mindless, inoffensive entertainment; however, there are many better ones on Food Network.
The best one, IMHO, is "A Cook's Tour." It's consistently great; I can't recall a bad episode.

I'm with rrf.
There IS something sexy about her. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it's there. Enthusiasm? Her voice? I like the thirty minute meals show. Yes, she is not making gourmet meals. And yes, she is not winning any awards presentation, creativity, etc. But she is not supposed to be redifining the culinary arts, she is showing people how to cook helathy meals in a short time. I love the fact that she seems to have little prepped for her show. She cleans and cuts things just like the rest of use do. (And cooking is the easy part - prepping is what sucks). |

I like her show personally, she does do some nice quick recipes, and she's not hard on the eyes! I don't think i've ever seen the $40 meal show though, maybe we don't get that one on FoodTV Canada.
The best looking host on FoodTV Canada though has to be Christine Cushing. She has a huge rack and loves to wear super tight tops Look how quickly I can degenerate a cooking thread into a sexual thing

I love 30 minute meals. That is the greatest show for someone just starting out. Those recipes are so easy and most of them are something everyone can enjoy. Everytime I see the show I salivate over the food... I can't wait to get the new cookbook!

Who cares if she's the world's greatest chef or even the world's greatest food financial advisor?
Let's concentrate on more important questions like: Would you hit it? and the answer is: Yes. Yes I would. Then I would sit down to a quickly prepared meal, which would give me just enough time to regain my...um...composure so I could hit it again. |

I would have to agree with sadatx.
She's not the greatest chef by any means (but then again, Emeril's really not all that people like to say he is), but she is a personable, and very do-able (haven't used that word in a few years!) host that probably identifies very well with the intended demographic.

She's cute and she follows her script well. She travels all
over the world on the food network. What's not to love about her? If you don't like her use you remote. I'd love to have her job or at least HIT IT!!! Then I'd do the dishes!

I sent them an email telling them that since it was regional you should include the tax and tip so that people would actually be able to go to the city and truly spend $40 a day. After visiting the FOODTV forums well I see that they changed it.
