The name of the brewery is Unibroue (sp?). They are based in Quebec and make beers that tend to be more in the Belgian style. I've tried most of them and they were all great.

Fat Tire is overrated. Although it is a good beer. I still think something with a bit more kick, either a Pale Ale or a Stout depending on whether you prefer the taste of hops or malt better. I say go all out either way.

Leffe Brune/Blonde, Guinness, and Pete's!

even though Pete himself no longer is part of the company, their beer is still very good. rumor has it (well, not really rumor--Pete used to be my baseball coach and we still talk a lot) that he's working on chocolate now.

If you can get to Ireland, a pint of Guinness is your only man.

Tastes completely different here than anywhere else in the world and nobody knows why. Much more creamy and less bitter.

A drink & a meal in one (or two or three or however many you are having yourself!)

I like a Canadian beer (too bad because I live in the states and can't find any) called Alexander Keith's. Smoothest beer I've ever tasted. Second is a Guiness and then Rolling Rock.

I proposed to my wife with a Guinness in my hand...she accepted with one in hers. Pulled properly too..from an Irish pro in a Manhattan pub.

I also love a little Quebec brew called Maudite. Man is that a quality beverage. It even has a little vegimite lingering in the bottom of the bottle when your done.

Failing a bar's lack of intelligence in selecting the finest import available, I go towards the second.

Stella Artois

Failing that wisest of wise choices,

Bass Ale

Failing that...

Water.

Really depends what I am in the mood for. I guess I am pretty fickle. Generally pick Newcastle or Bass, although there are times that I would prefer a Guinness and others where something lighter is preferable.

I like all different types of beer. I usually try to drink local beers when they are available. I mostly like dark beers and pale ales. I think the last beers I had were Breckenridge Pale Ale and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Guinness is also a favorite....

While spending a week in Brussels last year, I did my best to sample all 200 or so breweries (not lables... breweries for Pete's sake! )
Chimay Red may be the finest beer ever, closely followed by Grimbergen Double. Unfortunately, when you can get Chimay in the States 1- it's about $8.00/bottle and 2- it's usually stale...

just getting up to go buy some Keiths India Pale Ale and i will never turn down a Moosehead when one is offered. A few years ago while in Bar Harbour Maine, my wife and I enjoyed a nice blond ale called Thunderhole. It was from a local microbrewery I think ---- quite tasty.
