Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon

Starkizzer went all out for a holiday get together and made Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon for dinner last night. It was amazing! While she was cooking, I was taking some pictures.

While this took a long time to make, it was definitely worth it! We will be doing this one again!

Everyone seems to say that it would be a 5, but star made it look more like a 3 or so. It is mostly time consuming, not hard according to her.

I figured a 4 or 5. Looks like it came out great tho.

I REALLY like that dining area. Way more than I like the way the actual dish looks, except for the meat.

It's just that I dislike soups and vegetables.

Starkizzer 12-23-2009 09:04 PM

LS, its more like meat with a thick and delicious gravy on it. The veggies taste nothing like their original state and instead take on the taste of the wine and beef bullion they are cooked in. I was truly amazed at how tasty it came out.

Oh, and thanks about the dining room area. It was an old awful looking set I was given as a hand me down. Over the summer I sanded and painted the whole thing black and then recovered the cushions with this fabric I fell in love with from IKEA. :hearts:

Lovely photos, and the food looks amazing.

I recently watched the movie Julia & Julia which is in part about Julia Child, I hadn't heard of her before. Btw Meryl Streep is amazing as Julia Child. The boeuf bourgignon recipe appears in the film and I was curious to try it. So thanks for this!

Can't wait to try it myself.
