Vegan Cookies.
Who here knows what matserials need besides soy milk and black chocolate? All of the mix I find has egg or dairy in it. That won't do for me. If you can let me know what I can buy, or better yet where I can buy it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Vegan cookie recipes: http://vegweb.com/index.php?board=238.0
Some of them may or may not be vegan, as Vegweb also publishes ovo-lacto recipes, but Vegweb is still a great resource and highly recommended by this non-vegetarian (who cooks for a vegetarian). As for where to find vegan cookies--well, around here they're everywhere. I'd recommend checking your local health food store/food co-op. There are about 10 different kinds of vegan cookies at ours.

Ok, sorry for the delay. I was told that this website has lots of good recipes, just do a search or look through them by category.
http://www.theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/search.php Also, here's a cake recipe... • 1 1/2 cups unbleached white flour • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1 cup sugar • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (corn oil works well) • 1 cup cold water or chilled brewed coffee • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Generously oil an 8-inch square or round baking pan and dust with a little sifted cocoa, or line the bottom with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt and sugar. In another bowl, combine the oil, water or coffee, and vanilla. Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well- blended and smooth. Add the vinegar and stir briefly. The baking soda will begin to react with the vinegar right away, leaving pale swirls in the batter. Quickly pour the batter into the baking pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry. Transfer to a plate when cool and glaze. Happy cooking. |

Let cool on tray for 5 minutes. 9. EXTRA NOTES:. 10. This shortbread is not overly sweet - feel free to add another loosly packed TBS or 2 of brown sugar to the mix. Feel free to sprinckle granulated sugar on top before baking. Also depending on your oven cookies can be ready after only 15-20 minutes or can be cooked for upto 50 minutes (for extra crunch and with a very golden bottom). Keep an eye on shortbread for your preference. chocolate chip cookies 2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup margarine (melted) 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 2 tablespoons vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips 1. Preheat the oven to 375F. 2. Mix all of the dry ingredients, excluding the chocolate chips. 3. Stir in the wet ingredients. 4. Add the chocolate chips. 5. If the batter is too dry, add 1tbs of soymilk. 6. Bake tablespoon-sized cookies on a greased cookie sheet for 7-10 minutes. Be sure to place the cookies about 2” apart, because they expand as they bake. No Eggs, No dairy! Yay! Have fun! Last edited by Midnight; 08-15-2007 at 10:32 AM.. |
