What is the spanish word for PROOF-ING (baking)?
I have a project and I need to describe the process in which dough is left to rise or "proof". If any spanish speakers out there know the spanish word for "proof" that would be awesome.
Gracias. |
I just asked a friend of mine who is fairly fluent in Spanish and he was stumped. I have sent an email to one of the professor's in Spanish. If someone answers before me then great ... otherwise I hope to have an answer ASAP.

I believe the word you are looking for is the verb leventarse.

According to some of the women at my daughter's school the most appropriate word would be "creciendo."
These women are both from Spanish speaking countries. My daughter's school is a Spanish immersion school (they don't speak English to the kids). I still have not heard back from the Spanish professor. |

I don't know if there is any exact word relating to cooking, but I see no reason why this would not be perfectly acceptable as levantar means 'to rise/raise/lift' |
Thanks for all of your help. It all depends on the dialect also. The other translation I found is to "Reposar" as in aged. I'm going to use the three versions just in case.
Seriously Thank You all very much. |
One last reference:
http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=141927 I got this from the professor I was talking about. |
