NYC Get Together: See a Taping of The Daily Show!!! (updated)
 

I have the opportunity to get Daily Show tickets to be a studio audience member.

Please post here if you are in the NYC area and would like to try to see a taping.

Dates are still to be determined.

To give you some idea as to what it entails to see the taping, must be on the West side of NYC at 4:30pm and it's finished by about 7:30.

I'll be going with Xazy and Skogafoss this time around... but next time would you like to go?

Can we get a ballpark date so that I can make a submission request? Of course that would also require me to get a headcount. I'll of course pad it with a handful more to make sure we've got enough.

When we were there it happened to be that I knew the Studio Manager so that's going to be helpful if we get more adds as it gets closer to the date.

It's easy for me because I'm here in the city. Unless I'm doing a show, most weekdays in February and March work for me, other than March 2 and March 9. I guess it's more about the people coming in from out-of-town...

i will probably be in nyc before this as well, but am definitely coming st patricks day weekend to see the series of anthony braxton shows at iridium. if the dailyshow adventure is still possible that weekend, i would be into it....

show tapings are monday through friday. we can try to request either a monday or a friday to accommodate those out of towners to make it a 3 day weekend.

when is St. Pats?

March 17, same time every year! this year, that's a Friday.

I don't know when Columbus day is, MLK, etc... Only reason why I know Labor Day is because HS started the day after it.

I'm starting to get my new job schedule created, and it looks like I will have Mon/Tuesdays off. I could do either of those days, mostly like anytime from mid February onward once I finish my training.

When you live 40 min away from anything interesting, you need a damn good reason to get out of the house.

lurkette has a business meeting in March that will get its date finalized in the next couple days. After that, we should be all set to plan like a long-weekend (or maybe short-week) trip to NYC.

Yes to monkies, lurking bastids, et al: yes, you can stay at our place if you like! We have a second bedroom, a semi-leaky air mattress (trying to replace it before this) and a couch, plus other floor space if necessary.

I had tickets to see him once a couple years back. Or rather, my friend did, and showed up late. Even though I was already waiting on line, they wouldn't let me in. :(

oh man... I'd love to go, but with being on the west coast and buying a home soon... ain't gonna happen.

No worries, Cyn. If everybody else is still interested, my roommate works where Cyn does (though she's not nearly as much of a big-wig) and I can see if she can request the tickets. If not, we should have a meet-up anyway. Maybe March 24th, 25th or 26th?

Let us know when you are back ... there seem to be enough of us in the vicinity that with enough notice we can make it work ...
