The Garage: Comedy Night in NC

Where: The Garage in Winston Salem NC

Time: Show starts at 9:30pm. Club is open til 2am.

I talked to Lasereth about this at the club. Posting it in here as to separate it from the original thread about doing standup.

I'm going to be at The Garage doing my standup bit for the crowd. Ratbasid said he wants to come and Lasereth is going to be there. I'm calling all NC people that want to come listen to comedy and drink a few beers with other TFPeople to come on out. Open call for anyone that wants to meet up and hang out with other forum dwellers.

Let us know! Come meet Lasereth and Ratbasid! Listen to me crack jokes on stage! Come one come all!

hmmmm...only a seven and a half hour drive for me...

Its a possibility, though I wish it was a Friday and not a Thursday since I leave for work around 5:30.

I would absolutely love to go, but seeing as how it's a 2 and a half hour drive for me on a Thursday night, I doubt I'll be able to make it. I'd love to see an uploaded video or something though. Or, you should schedule a set at Raleigh's Charlie Goodnight's club afterwards :).

I was thinking about this, a NC meetup can be arranged for another time that could be a Friday/Saturday at a bar for us drinkers. Get together and see what is middle ground for everyone and meet up. Alcohol + TFPers should be fun.

There will need to be at least three others there. One to drive my car home, and two to carry my inebriated self out of the bar and onto someone's couch. Preferably one they don't mind having vomit on.

The Triad is sort of central--it's the same distance from the beach as from the mountains--aaaaand it's very handy for ME. ;-)

I'll be at Fort Bragg next-next weekend. Perhaps I should make a point of visiting some of you rowdy assholes.

If it's a weekend, I'll travel to where ever, WS and Green are about 1 to 1 1/2 away from me. I live closer to the Mts and if Bear Cub's location is right, he's an hour away from me (southwards). Most of the TFPers on here are closer to the coast. I've got friends in Charlotte and Raleigh that will lend me a floor/couch to sleep on and if need be I'll car surf it. Wouldn't be the first time I've passed out in my car because I couldn't drive home from the bar.

Crompsin I'll travel down to the coast just to hang out with your Eunuch ass. That or you can come to the foothills and party at the redneck dive bars I go to on a regular basis. The city I live in is actually a decently sized place for NC that isn't on the coast.

Should we try the comedy night meetup first, see if we can stand each other without a backspace key (not like Crompsin uses one anyway) and plan from there? I'm down for planning one earlier and doing that one too.

If I take 95 down to Bragg, it'll be a hike to the other locations... but that's fine. 95 takes like 5.5 hours if I'm hauling ass.

Nobody get their hopes up. I'll cancel any potential get-together if something with boobs pops up on the HUD.

For future reference, do you have to take your pants off to channel The_Jazz? That way I'll know who I'm talking to depending on the absence of pants or not.

Just an FYI, if you check the NYC meetup thread, you'll see some youtube vids. I took those with my regular digital camera that also takes movies. Quality isn't super great, but it doesn't require any conversions from tape or anything.

I'd just like to put my two cents in and say that a meet up in NC on a saturday would be doable for me, specially if RB will be there and I have the time to budget for a hotel room.

I guess I'm going to threadjack my own thread, but I'm thinking sometime at the end of sept. having a meetup on a saturday night for the NC TFPers around here. That way no one has to worry about work and we can all hang out and shoot the shit.

I'm sorry shani, but my mom and I got into very many arguments because she could refer to my events/tv shows/video games as "thingy's". Almost as if she couldn't be bothered to learn the full names. Couldn't she see how important this was? It was VERY important! Far more important than real life work and activities. Learn the name DAMMIT!
