NYC Meetup - Sept 27 - Improv Everywhere
 

There's a pretty big Improv Everywhere event going on this month on Governor's Island at 3:15 pm on Saturday, September 27. I've loved watching their stuff online, so I think I'll be headed in to participate this year.

This event is the fifth year of their Mp3 Experiment, where you download an audio track, press 'play' at the appointed time, and follow the directions. The above link shows video of the previous four years of Mp3 experiments.

Anyone want to join me? Or, anyone want to go to dinner somewhere that I can easily reach after the event by subway, and get to Grand Central to get back home afterword?

I was keeping an eye on this, though my excitement waned for it when I heard that it was going to be in a park on a remote island with limited bystanders. Well, if we can make a TFP thing, I'll be into it.

Unique among the Improv Everywhere events, the mp3 events are more for the participants than for the bystanders. I wouldn't worry about it being isolated. If I were within a days drive, I'd be there.

ah, I wish! If I'm ever there, that would be awesome. I love Improv Everywhere.

i think we need to a tfp improv everywhere event here. anyone have any ideas??

I am working on sorting something out here in Lisbon...will share when I get around to actually doing it :)

I believe that you have to participate in the big events like this before you get invited to participate in the smaller events, so that's another good reason.

Mp3 Experiment 5 - New York Details at Improv Everywhere
Here are the details.

for some reason I thought this was a PAST event. I booked a foreign film screening on Saturday.

The weather doesn't look good for tomorrow. I know the event is "rain or shine", but I doubt there's much cover from rain on the island.

I think I'm going to have to pull out of my own event. Sorry, guys.

You'll have an umbrella with you anyways.

And, I came down with a cold on Friday night, so the event was completely out for me. I sat and listened to the MP3 anyways, sounds like it would have been a lot of fun. Halx, did you make it?

I didn't make it, but I have a friend who did. I'll be asking him how it went. Everyone who I was going with just sorta.. faded out with the weather.
