Since we aren't supposed to be advertising in this forum I won't say WHY I'm going to be in Wilmington, NC on Sunday, May 25th at 1PM. ;)

However, I will ask the general population this question: is anyone here from Athens, GA and currently living there or knows people there?
Your help would be most appreciated.

I'm from Atlanta and have friends in Athens, whats the information regarding?

Im confused as to what Wilmington and Athens have to do with each other.... but while I dont live in athens, Im only about 45 minutes away from it....what do you need to know?

My band (Chess Club) is booked at WE Fest in Wilmington on Sunday, May 25th at 9PM. The Atlanta/Athens spot would be sweet on the night before. We had a booking agent trying to hook it all up but it has fallen through. So now we are on our own with booking for that Saturday.

We've played Atlanta a few times so we're trying to get something going there but since we've never done Athens I thought it would be cool if we could.

This late in the game is kind of pushing it. Most venues in GA book 6 to 8 weeks out so I'm looking to my friends at TFP for help!

I am trying to book the Star Bar in Atlanta. Anybody know anybody there? Anybody know any local acts that would like to share a bill? I'm combing myspace ... which really sucks.

From what I can tell Athens will be a ghost town by May 24th so there's no use booking there anyway.

I've been on that end of town a few times. Your traffic sucks bawlz! I had a friend who lived over there and 5:00 is a miserable time to be on the road!
