I realize I don't post very often... but this is very important to me.

For the past several months I have been getting involved in an incredible movement called "Invisible Children."

In 2003, three college-students set out on a trip to Africa, and ended up discovering a 20 year long war that has devastated thousands of people in the Sudan and Uganda. The children there are being abducted from their villages, and are being used as child soldiers and sex slaves for the Lord's Resistance Army, who are trying to overthrow the Ugandan Government. For so long, this war has been ignored by the rest of the world. These three college students taped amazing footage of what has been happening, and seeing this documentary has absolutely changed my life, my perspective, and my motivation for change.

I have now taken the position of the "Displace Me Event Coordinator" for the city of Colorado Springs. Displace Me is a huge event taking place in 15 cities around the United States (one of them being Denver, Colorado), and will hopefully show our government how much we care about the rest of the world. Displace me is meant to simulate the internally displaced camps over in Uganda, so you will be required to sleep overnight with thousands of other people surrounding you. To model the food rations given to these people in the camps, you are asked to bring a bottle of water and crackers, and someone will distribute them later on. This event will hopefully encourage our government to take action in Uganda, and promote peace talks between the armies that will allow the Ugandan people to return to their villages, allow their children to go to school, and provide adequate food, water, shelter, and health care to these displaced people.

I am currently in the process of getting together an incredible team to promote this event in Colorado Springs. My goal is to get 1,000 people to come to this event from my city. This is a lot, and I need your help. (If you are in another city in Colorado, there are still ways you can help.. ASK ME!)
