Housewarming Denver?
A long time ago, when there were actually forums dedicated to regions, I was contemplating a move to the greater Denver area, well it happened. We bought a new (from the ground up) house in Aurora, just off the e-470 & Smoky Hill Rd. We just moved in 2 weeks ago and the unpacking continues.
I'd like to see if there is any interest in a housewarming get-together? I'd love to do a barbecue, (ribs, ribs and mo' ribs) but the weather can be... unpredictable in the Denver basin. Anyway, this is not an official invite just yet, I'm testing the waters to see if there is any interest. If so, then we can set a date. |
I'm on the western slope, but about once a month I find myself on the Front Range. I'd be game for swinging by with some Bristol brews, a bottle of whiskey and some grilling food. Don't plan around me though; I have this horrible feeling that once ski season is in full swing I will become completely unreliable.

Congratulations on the completed home and your move in. I wish hub and I could be there to hear the stories of your move from CA to CO.
PS: Have you added any coasters since Seattle? :) |
Thanks! I did hit up the local Six Flags (Elitch Gardens) here in Denver, which is about the same size as Enchanted Village in WA. Timberhawk is a far better ride than anthing at Elitch Gardens. There is even talk about Six Flags selling off that property due to its prime downtown location and the fact that Six Flags has not been profitable for a while now. I hope not, because even though the local coasters are less than perfect, they are better than nothing.
For everyone else, I'll keep checking this topic for those interested. |
theyre moving elitches again mister coaster, itll be farther south in the coming years. I know the developer who bought it, and itll be for the best so itll have room to grow.
|
Can you provide a link to a story confirming that? I tend to see everything coaster related and this is news to me.

Well hell... If you live here now why don't we have a little get together?
I'm down for anything at any time. |
Sundays and Mondays are my days off, Holiday schedule will be a bit screwy, but I'll probably get off work by 3:30 no matter which days I work.
Have any suggestions? |
Food and booze are always good.
I know a few places around town to find such things. I get off at 6 everyday and my days off are spent with my girlfriend. We could meet somewhere downtown... |
Downtown is a bit of a drive for me, but not out of the question. I'm more fimaliar with the South-East quadrant.
We went to The Taste of Colorado, and that was downtown. We liked the area quite a bit, SO much more approachable than L.A. |
And it smells better than LA...
I don't know too much about that side of town. I know South but not East... How far East are you? Would the Park Medows are be okay? |
Let's see, is that where the 25 meets the 470? If so, yeah, that would be perfect. We're off the e-470 at Smoky Hill, so that's not too far at all. I think that's where we got our home theatre system. (Ultimate Electronics)
We have been to Rock Bottom brewhouse/restaraunt and enjoyed that quite a bit. |
Sunday afternoon I'll be driving from the Springs back to the mountains, and would be game for getting together in the Park Meadows area.
|
Im always down with Rock Bottom. How about a wed?
|
Sounds good to me.
ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED??? This may be a small get-together. |
There has to be more people.
Who wants to come watch me drink way too much beer? |

im surprised that there aint many people interested. then again its hard to get a sydney get together too. |
Well, if you ever make it to Denver, you have a couch to sleep on.
|
