I loved this movie, mostly because I study comedy and the art of funny. To think that I had never heard this joke before really disturbed me. What else am I missing?

The documentary goes further than just a bunch of comedians telling different versions of the same joke. they talk about the delivery, the underground culture of comedians and what they do when they are done for the night and just sitting around and trying to make each other laugh.

With these heavy hitters of comedy busting the same joke loose, you get to see the subtle way they deliver everything. You get to see them with their hair down, because this joke had never been told on-air and was almost a secret handshake for them.

Gilbert Godfreid (I used to hate him) was fucking incredible, and Bob Saget just killed. The Southpark gang do a version, again proving that Trey Stone and Matt Parker really know what they are doing, and are not just a bunch of cartoonists.

Rating: 8/10, only because it seemed to drag a bit in the middle. The cut scenes of the writing staff of "The Onion" was not funny, and did not add anything. It just took away from the others. I wanted it to keep picking up speed, and you could tell that the audience was kind of tired of it after a while. Then at the end, they stopped showing the different versions of it and instead concentrating on the art of it, the subculture of it, the history. That was funny.

I enjoyed some of it, but it was to draggy for me. Sorry got to give it more like a 6/10. Something I am happy I did not pay to see.

I too enjoyed it; felt like I was privvy to a secret club meeting or something. Thought it ran on a bit too long but I agree with BigBen--Saget was a hoot. Who would have thunk it? Odd thing is, you can't really recommend it to ordinary folks on the street, can you? It's just so freaking nasty.

I enjoyed it, did pay for it but went out with all the guys so it was a bit more sophomoric than anything.

I'd give it about 7 out of 10. It was just a tad too long, but still a good documentary.

Godfried and Saget killed. Silverman killed....

to me the best redition was the mime.

Loved the movie, but like the others I think it dragged on a little.

I figured it would have ended with Godfried who was so bloody funny I was rolling around laughing, but it just kept on going. Was it just me or did Hef look confused when Gilbert broke into the joke?

Saget was hilarious, I'd love to see him live, he's a dirty bastard, nothing like Danny Tanner. He was supposed to be doing a show in Ottawa but it was cancelled for one reason or another.

I agree Cyn the mime was great.

It was pretty good. Entertaining, worth renting one of these days but not a must see film.

George Carlin told it best in my opinion and ironically he did it first so it was a bit anti-climactic (poor editing). Though Jason Alexander takes the prize for most creative depiction of events. I don't think I'll ever get that image out of my mind. :lol:

I have to agree with others, it did drag. Godfried, Saget (especially), Silverman, and Carlin made the movie for me. I would say 7/10. On a side note, Silvermnan's Jesus is Magic is a similar type of film, though not a documentary, just a performance, but similar in its style of humor; it equally drags at times, but if you enjoy her humor is also a 7/10
