I would recomend this movie. Edward Norton and brad Pitt. I thought it was a great movie. Very weird with a totally unexpected ending. What did you think of it?

I thought it took a little to long to get to the point of the story, but could imagine if they came out with an ending like that today? Especially post Sept 11th? The producers would be crucified.

I thought that too when I watched it again recently.
Palahniuk's books are very subversive, there's no way they could've released that film in the current climate. (which is worrying)

Awesome movie, the book is far more trippier though. I recommend anything Fincher or Palahnuik.

As for the 9/11 ending, GET OVER IT.

Great movie that for some very odd reason I avoided.

Coincidently, I actually stumbled across the music that plays when they watch the buildings blow up. That was a pleasant surprise.

Okay not to be an ass or anything but isn't it just, "Fight Club" not The Fight Club.

I agree though. Great movie and great book. As far as the buildings exploding...I think those who commented mean that the ending probably wouldnt' be made today as opposed to when it was made. I have no problem with it but I really doubt the movies ending would have stayed the way it is.

This has to be the only movie that I can think of that is actually better than the book. I think the book is great too, but the cinematography of the movie really adds a lot. Though, this conclusion might have something to do with the fact that I read the book after watching the movie.

I didn't see it in theaters, and I really regret it.
I had no idea what it was about except for a bunch of guys beating each other up ala Van Damme's Lionheart. Even the first time I watched it as a rental, I hadn't a clue what I was about to experience. Luckily I had avoided spoilers & everything, so I was completely unprepared.

Subversive. Even deceptive in how it was marketed. I totally love that about the show. I've read the book since seeing it (seeing it many many times, naturally) and I think the movie is a brilliant adaptation of the written word. Dark, disjointed, and remarkably true to the overall storyline. The book's ending fits for the novel, and the movie's ending fits best for a movie - they are both the best possible realizations of the story for their respective mediums.

They were but not for that, for being the first violent movie after Columbine.

Great movie with two of my favourite actors.
Pitt and Norton complement each other so well in this movie. I reckon the theme of anarchy was one that they brought to life so well.
Great book as well, though it took me a few reads to actually figure out that the narrator isn't quite dead.

Yes this is by far my favorite movie. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton are excellent. If you've seen the movie but haven't read the book I suggest you do so. The book has so much more than is shown in the movie.

The DVD's great. The comentaries are where the gold is. I own all of Palahniuk's books but I wouldn't recomend Invisible Monsters. It just felt a little flat to me.

Great great movie, did a great job of taking a kickass story and making it into a watchable movie. Any of his other books are to great for words, survivor has to be my favorite book of all time. Pick up the books, any of them, you won't be dissapointed.
<P>As for 9/11 the orginal ending for the book none of the bombs went off, and he wasn't taking them out just to be blowing up buildings, Tyler was aiming the parker-morris building to fall on the NY Natural musuem of history ("This is our world, now, our world," Tyler says, "and those ancient people are dead") Watch the movie, read the books, I can't say this enugh.

the song at the end of the movie is the pixies - where is my mind, and its also the last song on the soundtrack which features 15 awesome songs by the dust brothers, the soundtrack is all music from the movie, no vocals or anything, yet its still a great listen, i recommend

Fantastic flick! I did not see it in theaters because from the marketing it looked really silly. My son had been trying to convince me to watch for quites some time when this january he put it on while I was in the room messing with a box. 5 minutes in to it I was riveted to the screen. I rarely watch films twice but I watched fight club 5 times over the following week.

Every scene in fight club is a great scene and every one of those scenes fits in to a whole greater then the sum of the parts. I could sit and watch that last seqeunce where buildings are collapsing as the Pixies wail in the background on a continous loop. Not the ending from the book but a good ending anyway.

Great movie, but I must admit that I had to watch it more than once to catch everything.

I can't identify with the pent up rage of virtually everyone in the movie, but it was still incredible to watch.

Speaking of Palahnuik, I need to read "Lullaby" and "Choke", but I thought that while "Invisible Monsters" and "Survivor" were interesting, those two didn't touch the raw, twisted mischeiveness of "Fight Club". Anyone takes on his recent works?

I only just saw fight club recently after all my freinds told me I should see it.

It was a great movie. The end totally took me by suprise.

I hadn't really heard of it until I got to college this year. I suppose it was one of those movies that slipped under my radar when it came out, as I wasn't really into movies that much then. So my friend sent me a divx of it. I tried watching it, but kept getting distracted (and the divx froze up and repeated "Thank you Thomas" over and over again... really creepy). So finally I tracked down someone who had it on tape, and watched it with a bunch of friends, most of whom had never seen it, either. We were riveted. So then I decided I wanted a copy. I couldn't find one anywhere... and I didn't have a dvd player at that point, so I was trying to find video. I finally found it at BJs of all places, and have watched it many, many times since then. There are so many small things that you don't notice the first time you watch it. Each time, you notice more things that you hadn't seen before. It's an amazing movie, and I'm going to read the book, just haven't had a chance yet.

This is definately in my top five favourite films... Palaniuk's books are even better...

Both the book and the film are highly subversive.

As for "where is my mind?" the song that plays at the end... I'd have to say it was one of the best surprises in the film for me. I have been a fan of the Pixies for years and that song was like icing on a very tasty cake. If you like that song you should check out everything else by the Pixies (especially Surfer Rosa and Doolittle... kick ass albums)

Fight Club is awesome! One of my favorites! I was so stoked when I read the book that Not a lot of stuff had really changed. It was maybe one of the only book movies that was actually as good as the book!!!!
Did anyone see the SNL with Jennifer Aniston, and for her monologue she does a Fight club parody with the girls from SNL?

One of my favorite scenes is when the normal guy (how am i forgetting his name....?) listens in on tylers door and all the sudden the door opens and he has rubber gloves on and says something like "Wanna giver her a go?" and she rolls off the bed onto the floor
