Favorite Band/Musician Cameo(s) in Movies
I think one of my favorite cameos has to be Save Ferris playing at the prom in 10 Things I Hate About You.
|
Lemmy and White Zombie in Airheads and Ozzy in Little Nicky.
|
Ok, the Dwight Yoakam one would fit better here than in the other thread, since he's a musician and not an actor (although he has been in movies, most notably Sling Blade).
|
Billy Idol in The Wedding Singer :)
|
I throw a vote for Billy too :)
|
oh and Jon Bon Jovi in Young Guns 2
|
There were a bunch of Country singer/musicians in Mel Gibson's Maverick.
Clint Black Waylon Jennings Kathy Mattea Carlene Carter Vince Gill Reba McEntire |
Rammstein was pretty bad-a in Triple X or whatever...
|
I agree Billy Idol in the Wedding Singer...also Huey Lewis in Back to the Future
|
Johnny Cash in the Columbo episode, "Swan song" as Tommy Brown.
Ozzy and the band "Helmet" in Jerky Boys the movie. Alice Cooper in Wayne's World. |
Ditto for Alice Cooper.... "Mille waukee"
|
Wasn't Primus in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"?
And The Donna's were in a movie too....can't quite remember which. |
Don't forget Meatloaf as "Tiny" in Wayne's World. He was the bouncer that told Wayne and Garth about the bands at the club, one of which was the "Shitty Beatles."
I'm not really a fan of Shania Twain, but her cameo in I Heart Huckabees was very funny too. |
Tito & Tarantula in From Dusk Till Dawn
|
Jeff Healy in Roadhouse! Now thar's a classic.
|
Wu-Tang Clan in 8mile.
Yes, I've watched it. |
Elvis Costello, in Austin Powers..
|
David Bowie in Zoolander
|
Some really good ones above: Cooper, Idol, and Jeff Healy was great and the Johnny Cash.... one of the greatest Columbo movies ever.
Mine would be Ray Davies in "Absolute Beginners", he made the movie for me. As for TV shows has to be Willie Nelson on MONK...... lol..... one of the greatest scenes in TV or movies..... MONK whistling because someone else's lips touched his clarinet..... priceless and hysterical the way Willie reacts. |
Huey Lewis in "Back to the Future"
ZZ Top in "Back to the Future III" Those are the ones that come to mind for me just off the top of my head. |
Johnny Cash wasn't in a cameo role... that's what you call a lead or a starring role (though I'm sure it was credited as "guest star".
I agree though. It was probably one of the best Colombos ever... definately in the top 5. |
Ed Kowalczyk(Live) in Fight Club.
Meat Loaf was also great in that movie, but that was more of an acting role than a cameo |

|
Miles Davis and Keith Richards in Scrooged
|
Count Basie Big Band in Blazing Saddles.
|
Offspring in "Idle Hands".
Hurray for young not aneroxic Alba. |
Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) in the 1998 remake of Psycho.
|
Afghan Whigs in Beautiful Girls...They were awesome playing in the bar and the scene between the guy and Uma was priceless. Love it, love it...It is one of the main reasons I watch the movie :D
|
Tom Waits in Mystery Men and Domino
All of the grunge type in Singles, especially Chris Cornell |
jesus christ get it right
obviously its NEIL FRIGGIN DIAMOND in Saving Silverman |
Primus in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
and Jim Martin (Faith No More guitarist at the time) in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. I remember seeing that in the theaters when it came out (I was either 10 or 11), "It's the dude from FNM!!" |
The Tragically Hip in Men with Brooms. Canadian movie not surprised if most non-Canucks dont know it.
