calling all Sci-Fi geeks... :)

i was just wondering who else out here watched/watches Farscape?...

and what you all felt about it sudden and unexpected death when it wasn't renewed last fall?

i shamelessly admit that i cried like a baby through the last few episodes... trying in vain to hang on to what little bit i had left...

any takers?

I'm taping it every night. I was bummed that they swapped it last Monday for some kind of movie, as I had to reposition the tape again to get the next episode in sequence.

I really hope that SciFi realizes what a mistake they made and figure out a way to bring it back.

Yeah, I'm a major Farscape geek. I own all of the DVDs and have most of the rest of the episodes on vhs. I can't wait until they come out on DVD. I'm just pissed that the scifi channel would cancel that show. I love watching it. The way they ended the last season could have been a great series finale if not for the "to be continued..." at the end. The little thank you to Farscape from the scifi channel at the end really pissed me off though.

oh i could not agree more! made me want to stick my foot through my television screen and directly into some sci-fi channel exec's rear end! *sheepish laugh*

i read at a number of the "Save Farscape" sights that they left it as a "to be continued" in the hopes that Fox, or some other network might pick up the show.
from what i understand... there is still quite a bit of active negotiation going on in that regard...

i'm keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath. it's a shame really... Farscape was a rare gem among a lot of crap that's out there...
imho anyway... *shrug*

glad to know the other "Scapers" out here!

Such as, say, the show they put on to replace it.

I loved Farscape. It just got better & better. It had at least another season or two left in it.

I've not watched the Sci Fi channel since they cancelled it.

No cable, I have to make due with "Enterprise" and STNG and Voyager reruns.

These days, it's on at a time which only makes sense for those of us who are taping it: midnight to 01:00 on weekdays.

Same here. It's made easier by the fact that most of the stuff on scifi is crap anyway.

Lebell, head out to a local Blockbuster or any other video store and rent some of the season one dvds.

for those of you who might be interested...

http://savefarscape.com/

in many ways, Farscape is still very much alive and well... just taking a hiatus one might say... waiting for a network, who doesn't have their head stuck in their ass, to continue the story...

Nice. There was a long on-line interview of a one of the producers, with Ben kinda there just because, on-line somewhere. Wish I could remember. Might be at savefarscape, but I'm not sure.

Sci Fi has been sucking for the past few years and this is just the culmination of it...

On the plus side, I got to meet Virginia Hey at a convention, and she's a babe and a half AND super nice on top of it

that is very cool! i would love to meet her

i was so sad when Zan was written out of the show... her charcter was so integral to the deeper, spiritual evolution of all of the characters...

i was hoping that she would return, in one form or another, before the end of the series... but of course SciFi killed that...

as far as i am concerned... there just isn't anything that is worth watching on scifi anymore...
it's all vomitable dren.

Well, there's still reruns of Farscape and Stargate. I wish they rerun Highlander again, too.

from my understanding, the make up sessions were driving her mad and making her sick. she felt she was losing her femininity(sp?) because she had to shave her head and eyebrows. she LOVES the cast and crew and loves the character also and has stated she really wants to come back to the show if it were possible to play a character with less makeup etc... I don't see why they couldn't have added her as a new character perhaps like -

*Zahn's half-sebation sister
*A Peacekeeper
*A Bionoid

many, many, decent storyline options, especially when your dealing with the realm of science fiction...

anyone reccomend any good farscape websites with the most current up-to-date info about the series? last i heard, brian henson bought back his father's company from the bankrupt german company that owned it...

Farscape was the second best Sci Fi show ever made, next to Babylon 5. There is very little better than a main character who goes steadily crazy from the start of the show.

You wouldn't BELIEVE what they did to Farscape in Australia. It wasn't rating in prime time, it didn't rate too well at an 11 pm timeslot, so they cut it down to a G rating and screened it on the weekends at about 4 pm.
In the process of cutting it, they stopped it from making ANY sense at all. It was one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen a network do.

I loved farscape, I think it is my favorite show. I've seen them all, and was pretty heartbroken when it wasn't renewed. I sent a couple letters myself in that whole campaign. Maybe they'll make a movie or two. Can always hope.

Did you know Virginia Hey played the Warrior Woman in The Road Warriors with Mel Gibson?

The Farscape mini series started production as far as I know in December. The only kicker is that there are no distrubution rights sealed for it, so there's no telling if it will be shown on sci-fi, showtime, etc, or just go straight to dvd.
