Wow... Didn't Emeril teach us anything chefs and sitcoms? A chef does a shitload of hard drugs, works in shitty restaurants and does more drugs. What a great show.

That *could* work... it isn't close to Emril's load of stinky cheese... This one is produced by Darren (Sex and the City) Star... It also stars Nicholas (Xander Harris) Brendon... I'll watch an episode just to see if Brendon can do well at anything besides Xander...

I'm always intrigued by the fact that copy-cat series NEVER work out, but the damn networks keep trying.

On my personal early list for Fall failures:
* Any show that tries to copy "Lost"
* Any show that tries to copy "Medium"
* Any show that tries to copy "Desperate Housewives"

Didn't Alicia Silverstone star in a show exactly like that a year or so ago (and it flopped)?

That caught my eye as well. They've been playing re-runs of the old series on Sci Fi during the day. I've Tivo'd them, but haven't watched them.

Not a lot there that I could see, but there might be some diamonds in the rough worth watching.

V Meets Man From Atlantis???... Somehow, I don't see this one lasting too long

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I remember the original Night Stalker series - Stacey Keach was in it I think - scary show and so much scarier and better than the XFiles.
I'm not clever or knowledgeble enough about TV, so I'll just drop in this wonderful quote from TeeVee - Upfronts '05: What We Learned:
Quote:
Attention aliens: please begin your invasion now. Following up on the success of Lost, the copycats at the networks have littered their schedules with stealth sci-fi series great and small. The three near-identical shows are NBC’s Fathom (a team of experts investigates strange happenings in the oceans!), ABC’s Invasion (a team of Florida townspeople investigates strange happenings after a hurricane!), and CBS’s Threshold (a team of experts investigates strange happenings in the oceans!). There’s just one problem with all of these Lost-like shows: Lost isn’t a show about alien invasions. So why the three identical alien plots? In other sci-fi news, there’s The Night Stalker, which would be an X-Files retread if The X-Files were not itself a retread of the original Night Stalker. And there’s Ghost Whisperer, which is a retread of Medium.
I don't know why those three shows are getting compared to Lost... they don't even resemble lost. Did someone else, besides TeeVee's reviewer make these connections?
To me they are following more in the ongoing tradition of the success of all things paranormal... The fact that both Fathom and Threshold are similar is not a surprise... this kind of thing happens all the time.
Any show that has a bevy of beautiful women, and takes it self seriously (Pepper Dennis)
Any show that tries to copy a pay television hit's format (Sons & Daughters)
And 90% of the shows that don't end in ":XXX" (as in CSI:NY, L&O:SVU)
There are a couple that might make a second season. I think we should start a death pool on which series gets cancelled first.
Nice to see some of the former Buffy and Angel cast members are doing something.
just by looking at the titles of most shows, you can tell if they are going to make it.
