Here's a linky for those (like me) who don't want to have to root around for it:

http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/serenity/

It looks very cool, but I'm just hoping that it is going to have more "new" material as opposed to rehashed series material.

If you are so inclined, join the official Serenity Club , there's video clips, fan art and other neato stuff.

As far as the trailer goes, I watched the part of River kicking ass like five times. Makes me even more excited about the movie! Great trailer except that there was a disturbing lack of Kaylee.

Looks like it's in good hands.

So, the movie looks good, despite the misgivings of the masses.
I guess the question now has to be, "Is there anything Joss Whedon doesn't do well?"

Was he the guy that wrote the "what happens to a toad when it gets hit by lightning?" line from the first X-men?
That might have been the one blemish on his career that makes the rest of his work look extra good.
If that wasn't him, then no, there's nothing he doesn't do well.

i would guess that the trailer was put together to the most people interested in the film (thats why there is lots of stuff blowing up and Kung-Fu River) This is Joss Whedon he writers storys about people living thier lives - i hope thats this is what this film is. Joss: " Thursday, May 5th at 10:00 pm, the movie (Serenity! Pay attention! Jeez.) will be playing at exactly 10 theaters in 10 cities across the country. You (or possibly someone much like you) (or possibly a robot EXACTLY like you, but with better manners and sonic arm-lasers, sent to take your place) will be able to buy a ticket to see Serenity months in advance. Not just the bitty trailer with not enough Kaylee and Book, but the whole film, in its extremely almost completed state.

Seattle
Austin
Sacramento
Boston
Altanta
Chicago
San Francisco
Las Vegas
Denver
The Portland of Oregon "

Website: "Attention Browncoats - Success! We have sold out every screening in the course of a few hours. We thank you for your unfaltering support. Your message is clear - the power of Serenity and of The Browncoats cannot be underestimated. No power in the ‘verse can stop us!"

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. I knew I should have checked the message boards more often since I live in the Portland of Oregon. methinks it's time for me to sneak into the theatre since I learned about this from the delayed email rather than directly from the boards.

I don't know if he did or not...It could have been worse. He could have made some silly pun using Storm's name.

Aside from the ending, I would take Alien:Resurrection over the third any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I don't imagine his presence was as heavy-handed in the movies that he wrote as it was with Buffy and Angel.

I can't wait to see it!

However, it does seem to totally preclude any chance of the series coming back. Even that short trailer answered alot of questions about River. Assuming that was Joss' original intention for her character.

Crazy

actually the only part of joss whedon's version of the x-men script that got into the movie was when cyclops asks logan how he could tell he was the real logan, to which logan replies, "you're a dick."

funny i read that on IMDB like a week ago.

I heard that River was made of chocolate.

I never got into Firefly, but this is great news for the fans, so congratulations.
