Song Lyrics I'll Remember Till The Day I Die

Song lyrics I will remember till the day I die (in no particular order):

Finch's "What it is to Burn"
Chad Kroeger's "Hero"
Crossfade's "Cold"
Cold's "Gone Away," "No One," and "Stupid Girl (Bizarre Remix)"
Theory of a Deadman's "The Last Song"

It doesn't matter how often I listen to those songs, I will always sing with them.

So tell me what's the price to pay for glory?

What's everyone elses'?

Hain 02-08-2005 08:07 PM

Metallica's "No Leaf Clover"
Bryan Adam's "Heaven"
Don Henley's "Boys of Summer"
Eagle-Eye Cherry's "Save Tonight"

I'm good at remembering song lyrics. It doesn't matter how long it's been since I've heard a song, if I hear it again, it'll come back to me and I won't miss a single line. I recently re-purchased Korn's self titled, which I haven't heard for about five years, and I still remember every line of every song.

like one month running, and I cant get it out of my head: Over the Hills and Far Away.

(oops now I have ELO in my head... haha)

Hey Lady--you got the love I need
Maybe, more than enough.
Oh Darling Darling Darling, walk a while with me
Oh you've got so much...

Many times I've loved - Many times been bitten
Many times I've gazed along the open road.

Many times I've lied - Many times I've listened
Many times I've wondered how much there is to know.

Many dreams come true and some have silver linings
I live for my dream and a pocketful of gold.

Mellow is the man who knows what he's been missing
Many many men can't see the open road.

Many is a word that only leaves you guessing
Guessing 'bout a thing you really ought to know, ooh!
You really ought to know...

saut 02-09-2005 02:39 PM

Perhaps this should be in Tilted music... anyway, I'd have to go with Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody. I can't count the number of times my friends and I have sung along with that song.

As dumb as it sounds, and as much as my musical tastes have changed over the last 6 years, Grade's "A year in the past, forever in the future" always reminds me of that perfect high-school summer, before everything got all weird.

STAIND'S "SO FAR AWAY"

This is my life It's not what it was before All these feelings I've shared And these are my dreams That I've never lived before Somebody shake me 'cause I, I must be sleeping

And now that we're here, so far away All the struggle we both thought was in vain And all the mistakes one life contained They all finally start to go away And now that we're here, so far away And I feel like I can face the day And I can forgive and I'm not ashamed To be the person that I am today

These are my words that I've never said before I think I'm doing ok And this is the smile that I've never shown before Somebody shake me 'cause I, I must be sleeping

And now that we're here, so far away All the struggle we both thought was in vain And all the mistakes one life contained They all finally start to go away And now that we're here, so far away And I feel like I can face the day And I can forgive and I'm not ashamed To be the person that I am today

I'm so afraid of waking Please dont shake me Afraid of waking Please... Dont... Shake... Me!

And now that we're here, so far away All the struggle we both thought was in vain And all the mistakes one life contained They all finally start to go away And now that we're here, so far away And I feel like I can face the day And I can forgive and I'm not ashamed To be the person that I am today

Nah, actually I meant to put this here because my friends at school check entertainment, not music so... if they move, se la vi.

K-Wise and saut, I like how you were able to point out the correct-forum issue without being rude. Any other board wouldn't have ended up so civil.

Anyway, I'll toss out "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane, and every song on Pearl Jam "Ten."

K-Wise 02-09-2005 08:05 PM

^^^ Ditto on the "Ten" album...I feel the same way about August & Everything After by Counting Crows

There's lots of songs I love and remember, by lots of performers that I idolize. But what will I probably remember until the day I die?

Bananaphone.

Damn that Raffi. Damn him straight to Newark.

Alice in Chains - Got me Wrong

As of now, I bet youve got me wrong

Bryndian_Dhai 02-10-2005 03:34 AM

"Mexican Moon" by Concrete Blonde.
"Tomorrow, Wendy" by Concrete Blonde.
"Joey" by Concrete Blonde.
"Caroline" by Concrete Blonde.

*grins* Yes, there is a theme. heheh.

I also love the words to "Walking on the Moon" and "Tea in the Sahara" and "Every Breath You Take" and "King of Pain" and "Wrapped Around Your Finger" by the Police. Yes, another theme.

"Fat Bottomed Girl" by Queen.

"For You" by Staind.

Anything by Godsmack.

Anything by Tool.

I suck at remembering lyrics, too, so if I remember it, it means a lot to me. *grins*

Alright, I love to see there is another Concrete Blonde fan here! They rarely get the recognition they deserve. Did you hear the rumor that Johnette Napolitano is one of the people trying to audition for the lead singer spot in INXS? If true, that should be pretty interesting.

Bryndian_Dhai 02-10-2005 06:01 AM

I hadn't heard that, but I'll be sure to check it out.... I'd love to hear her sing with INXS. She's awesome.

anleja 02-10-2005 06:44 AM

Bryndian, here is a link with the only info I can find... not too much, but enough to capture my attention...
article

derektor 02-10-2005 04:10 PM

Fucking awesome.

Any song on Pearl Jam's Ten
Any song on The Wall
Darling Nikki (Prince)
Everlong (Foo Fighters)
Love Shack (B52's)
December (Collective Soul)
Lacrymosa (Mozart)
Notorious (Duran Duran)
Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta (Geto Boys)
Half Shark-Alligator, Half Man (Dr. Octagon)
Hotel California (Eagles)
Dust in the Wind (Kansas)
Don't Stop Believin' (Journey)
Under the Milky Way Tonight (The Church)
Burnin' Down the House (Talking Heads)
Hurt (NIN)
Hey Jude (Beatles)
...

There're more, that's just off the very top of my head. I try not to memorize the lyrics so much as capture the song completely in my head. Lyrics without music feel somewhat empty to me.

Hain 02-10-2005 07:34 PM

Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn"
Stone Temple Pilots "Big Empty"
Gavin Rossdale "Adrenaline"

gonad 02-11-2005 01:40 AM

I can pretty much remember any song after hearing it once or twice, but as far as lyrics that really jumped out at me the first time I heard them ...

If you're from my part of the country you might have heard of a neo-traditional/alternative country group called Jason Boland and the Stragglers. Very popular in Oklahoma and Texas and so on. The particular song is simply called "Drinkin' Song." Which is basically about trying to stop drinking, and failing.

Ex:

"Well the times before when I'd quit,
I'd quit quittin' the very next day.
So many times hell I lost count,
I guess it just works that way.
I forgot how it felt to feel good in the morning,
Mornings were for going to bed.
And I'd fall outta the rack
a monkey on my back
and need a drink to ease my head"

But the best line ever in a song ...

"Just the other day, I was thinking to myself,
'At least I still think to myself!'
Everything works except me of course,
I've still got some of my health"

K-Wise 02-11-2005 01:55 PM

^ haha I fuckin love Gavin Rosdales "Adrenaline"

Asta!!

Holy strange. I was listening to my launchcast station, and not 5 seconds after I read your first post, "Hero" came on (never played on my station before). Eerie... :hmm:

Hero is one of those songs for me too. Same goes for the vast majority of Nickelback's singles (don't ask me to name the songs though :D ). Unfortunately, I also used to be able to recall the full lyrics to "Baby One More Time" and "Oops I Did It Again" by Britney Spears (not by choice mind you). Forgot About Dre (Dr. Dre f. Eminem) is another one that I can remember whenever I hear it. Same goes for "Bus Rider" by The Guess Who.

Hain 02-11-2005 04:16 PM

Gotta love coincidenses... Without them what would keep us guessing?

:Is screaming Edgewater's "Eyes Wired Shut":
