Damn, I watched hundreds if not thousands of his tonight show episodes. Lenos' ok, but he's no Carson. He was "the" late night talk show standard setter. Terrible way to go. I know he used to smoke on tv sometimes. Don't know if he ever kicked the habit, but emphysema is not the way I'd choose to go. Don't start smoking. If you smoke, stop.

Its sad, he was a great guy.

He pretty much set the standard for late night talk, and there hasn't really been his equal. I hope in the coming weeks we see some tributes with some of his best moments put together. His reactions to some of his guests were priceless. In his own words, funny stuff!

The bad thing is that if you've smoked for any time at all it does not really matter. Emphysema is not something you CAN get from smoking. It is something you WILL get if you live long enough.

I don't know, my Grandmother just had her 100th birthday,and she doesn't have Emphysema. Of course she never smoked either. I'm no doctor, but I have always heard smoking will definitely cause it eventually. Either way, smoking will surely not improve your health.
