You realize that's probably a non-legit bootleg, right?

I'm just saying, that's all.

My son bought the dvd set and got me to watching it with him. It made me mad when spike was killed at the end, I would have liked to see them do more episodes.

why do you people buy anime? You can get the fansubs free (until it gets officially released), at least a year before it gets worked over into DVD's and the subtitles added.

Question: Does the Bebop DVD's have "Knockin' on Heaven's door" [Bebop Movie] as well? I'm just asking, because I haven't seen any posts relating to the movie yet.

ok there's only one movie right, well if so it had been mentioned a couple times. In the U.S. it was newly released a couple months ago... so I don't think it would be on any of our dvds yet. But if there is another movie... then I have no idea what the hell I'm talking about... (but I'm pretty sure there is only one movie.)

Nope, just the TV sessions. The movie is a separate DVD release.

The movie "knockin on heavens door" is showing down the street. I saw a bootleg of the original and it's damn good.

I haven't watched the anime yet, but I can't wait, I started reading the Manga a couple of weeks ago and fell head-over-heels for it. Great concepts/characters and artwork. I'm really not even that much of an anime nut, but it crosses genres on so many levels.

Cowboy Bebop is my second favorite anime.

InuYasha is my favorite, the story keep sme watching it.

On another note, one of the worst animes I've seen (art wise) is probably Kikaider. Good concept, bad follow-through.

Cowboy Bebop is the sh*t. I loved it. I only wish I hadn't watched it - so I could watch it all again.
Ed was my favorite. Loved the way she talked and the silly rhymes.

Agreed 500%.

Secondly, for the love of anime in general, why are some users spoiling the entire series with replies on what happens at the end? Do you have no consideration at all for others that haven't seen the entire series? I hate it when people spoil series. It's immature.

I bought the ENTIRE DVD set as it came out, old-school style. That was a few years ago. I have all 6 DVD's which were all $33.99 as they were released. Ha ha, I literally bought each DVD as soon as I found them at stores (they used to be REALLY rare). What a most excellent series. I've watched it through a few times. Here at college my brother and I will simply pop one of the DVD's in and watch like 3 episodes at a time. I think my favorite episodes were: the one where Spike teaches that guy how to fight like a badass and how he does it; the episode where the dog Ein is introduced; and when the fungus/mold of death attacks the entire crew of the Bebop with Spike fighting it with a flamethrower used for cooking. Oh, and when they eat the mushrooms.

I haven't seen the movie yet. I wonder if it's any good?

I hate anime. I think it's ridiculous, and I think that people who think they're anime characters are ridiculous, and I do NOT dig the "cute" thing. That said, Cowboy Bebop and FLCL are the only two anime series that I enjoy by virtue of their not sucking.

Apply any storytelling rubric from another media to anime and you'll see a sloppy, unconvincing mess - lots of style and no substance to speak of. CB makes up for it with its oblique characterization, and FLCL makes up for it by being too weird and entertaining to judge.

Cowboy Bebop is by far the best series I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Everything I want to praise about it, well, someone else has done it...spike, faye's tragedy, the music, ed...

The movie though, was pale by comparison to the series I thought. It was good, but...not as good as I had hoped. Btw, I watched it in theatres, and also a downloaded subbed one. The theatre [dubbed] actually had more scenes. And by scenes i mean split second differences...they're there, I'm sure, and they're not in the original jap one. Anyone else see that?

I can't add much to the praise of this great show. Very stylish. I'm glad my friend got me into it. I'm not a big otaku, anime nerd. I dabble in different things.

Let me rasie a question though: Does Edward take away from the show?

I know comic relief is great, but she is what the other style of anime is made of: sillyness, randomness... that sort fo thing. I think some of her stuff is funny "My socks are CoooOOOool! [sounds like soemthing I'd say by myself]" Am I the only that thinks that Ed is somewhat of a stubling block?

I agree with you SOMETIMES Randerolf. But I still think she is great. Sometimes she does make the show a little goofy, but then she does stuff that is complete genius. I think does a lot for the show. Like did you see the chess one. Where she finds and plays with the old hacker/ chess player. That was a great one. I think her character is great, but sometimes the ways they animate her are a little bit of silly anime, with the swirly eyes and rubbery limbs, etc. But I still love her!

I think its very very good, I have all six discs (R4).

The interviews and extras are worth watching. Shinichiro Watanabe (the director) did 1 or 2 of the shortfilms from the animatrix. If you want an overview of when anime started, the documentary on the animatrix is pretty good I think.

This is my favorite Anime. Next would follow Armitage.

I wish i could buy the whole set plus the movie.

Bounty Hunting in deep space. What could be better then that? Well Anime pr0n of course. I mean La BLue Girl is sokay. But no where near Cowboy Bebop.

Anyways, anyone else know of his other works? The animator and director?

lesse.. where to begin - Sledge - not all anime is as bad as you describe. Besides Cowboy Bebop and FLCL, I'd suggest Neon Genesis Evangelion as another good story-driven series. also - bondagegirl and the others who asked as to differences between the original and the Cartoon Network versions - Cartoon Network has edited the series for blood, language, and certain scenes are partially cut out. - example: when Faye is trying to find a bounty, and bursts into a man's hotel room in the search, the man is "sitting up" in bed. what you might not have noticed, however, is the impression that is still on the bed where the man is not - CN edited out the gay banging going on there. as to where to get the series - I suggest discountanimedvd.com , or ebay (if you're feeling adventurous). finally - Quadraton - as to the ship names: The main ship (owned by Jet Black) is called the Bebop. Faye's ship is the Redbird, Spike's ship is the Swordfish II, and Jet's personal ship (the yellow one that rarely comes out) is called the Hammerhead. any questions?
