Van Helsing

Has anyone here seen the movie 'Van Helsing? I thought it was a decent movie. What is your review of it? *Yay! A Australian main actor, Hugh Jackman WOooo*

Thanks guys (keep the flaming of the movie to a min)

It was alright.

It's not a movie where I'd go up to someone and say, "Damn, you REALLY need to see Van Helsing!!"

...but it's not one where I'd say, "...that was stupid. Really stupid and a complete waste of time..."

Too much CGI - especially Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde.

Plot was hard to grasp. Dracula and those vampire ladies made dead vampire kids and Frankenstein's monster is needed to give them life? Hmm... that's another thing: they give the name "Frankenstein" to Frankenstein's monster. Generally the creature isn't named.

I liked it because of the story line was so unique. The way they blended the Dracula story line into Frankenstein's was clever.

So are you saying that people should only post their opinion if they liked the movie? Just curious.

blitz.fenix 12-31-2004 01:41 PM

The only thing I liked about this movie was Kate Beckinsale. Other than that I wanted my 6$ back.

xerraire1 01-01-2005 03:08 PM

I agree, but she was almost worth the $6... wait a sec, I paid $8... damn!

I thought it was complete and utter pants.

Mind numbingly bad.

Machine gun cross-bows?! SIGH

Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula is an excellent example of how to make a good, atmospheric, mature vampire movie.

Mr Mephisto

I reckon it was a brave attempt to modernize horror but still involve classic. Failed, but had the ability to be good.

The script let it down...

monkeysugar 01-02-2005 04:58 AM

I was not expecting much, therefore I was not disappointed. I am, however, glad I didn't spend $8.50 to watch it in the theaters.

pocon1 01-02-2005 02:47 PM

I call it Van-Helstink. It was pretty bad. Vampires flying in the middle of the day because it is cloudy? Come on.

rhaevyn 01-03-2005 08:56 PM

Not the best or the worst movie I've ever seen.

soccerchamp76 01-04-2005 01:07 AM

One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Up there with the likes of Dumb and Dumber-er.

Eight 01-05-2005 02:58 AM

Its a ok moive to switch off and chill out to. Not one that takes a great deal of thought to watch.

Frowning Budah 01-07-2005 07:58 PM

I found it entertaining. Not one I would put on my watch over again and again list.

ryfo 01-07-2005 07:59 PM

is it true that a sequel is going to be made?

pinoychink790 01-07-2005 08:02 PM
