Dr.Phil's Desperate Housewives...
 

Anyone see Dr. Phil yesterday? I'll admit that I did and that I'm a married man who hates shows like his. I thought it was an interesting show. Dr. Phil was 'getting real' with those ladies... I'm sure there was a fair bit of acting there too, but it was pretty good. My wife kept changing the channel and I was like 'go back, go back'. I'm tuning in tonight to see the second half... Anyone else like me out there?
It made me wonder how many 'desperate housewives' there are out there. I would love to open a thread maybe in nonsense or sexuality about the prevalence of desperate housewives in society.

I guess I need a definition... What is a desperate housewife?

Whilst I know there is a recent US TV show called "Desperate Housewives", I've got no idea what it's based upon or whether the term referrs to the TV show at all.

Fair point.... I guess I don't know what a desperate housewife is but my guess is a stay at home mother who feels bottled up in her current life and who reacts to that claustrophobia by acting out in various ways; affairs notably, drug and alcohol dependency, and other things...

I guess the thing that caught me up the most is the women seeking sexual outlets. The volvo driving soccer moms I guess. I guess I'm wondering if there are women out there like the characters in ABC's Desperate Housewives. With the same desires for sexual gratification brought about by long lonely days and menotinous (sp?) living?

If there are, I can think of a number of guys who would be available to "help out" around the house. ;)

It was pretty sad how out of touch these women are with themselves. The denial of that alcoholic woman was astounding. She minimized a lot of detrimental behavior as, "That's not the way I always am..." Yeah, well serial killers don't eat their victims all the time either, sheesh. Unfortunately, it's being done in a "reality show" type way, which annoys me. They annoy me.
