The Corporation

Searing, brilliant, depressing and frightening, this movie is a masterful documentary about the history and nature of the institution of the Corporation...

Has anyone else seen this?

i saw this a couple of months ago -- i thought it was well done and very informative though i think it could have used a bit more editting -- it seemed too long.

I've seen several reviews of this on various movie shows this week and i am keen to see it. I think it comes out sometime next week, in the arthouse type cinemas, so i'll hopefully see it then.

Too long?

If anything I thought it was too short!

well it's almost 2 and a half hours long -- which is quite a while to sit in a movie theatre. i realize that this is the *short* version of the film (the festival version was a solid 3 hours) but my friends and I really thought the movie was over 3 or 4 times before it actually was.

Probably going to catch it this afternoon or tomorrow. It's been getting great reviews.

Maybe cause I'm a tragic movie nerd I have no problems sitting in a movie theatre for extended periods. I just thought they could have been more thorough with some points if they weren't restricted by time...

I mean 'Once Upon a Time in America' now there's a long film at 314 minutes...

I saw this tonight, via alternate means of which i was lucky to get the 3 part series (which was originally on TV in Canada, i think?). Basically it was quite scary and alarming although with some slight glimours of hope eg. the people getting their water de-privatised.

Also, in light of the short story about the fox investigators show getting its content altered and corporations controlling what information gets out to the people, through various new sources, people should check out another documentary called Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism . Basically about the fox news putting forward a lot of right wing propaganda and filtering news to promote their various agendas....

Did that go for that long? that's 5 and bit hours?
I think i saw the directors cut version which was released earlier this year, and it went for about 3 and half hours. Is there another version? It was a great movie though

I just say The Corporation - it is quite well done. There was so much material though... I'll be chasing down ideas and leads from this film for at least a couple of weeks. I'd recommend it to anyone that has access to a theater that is showing it.
