Survivor
I was just wondering who on here enjoys this show, or not?
Did you think that Jenna was deserving of winning? I really thought that Matthew would win, just because he seemed to play the game the best, but I was torn between him and Jenna, so I am still glad she won. |

There's someone in my head, but its not me

I've watched the show ever since the last episode of the first season. I don't really think Jenna was very deserving of winning. I think the reason she won was more a result of being more popular with the jury rather than any other skills she employed in the game. Between the two, I would rather have seen Matthew win since he worked much harder during the game. Overall, I think Rob was the most deserving tribe member and should have won. He played the game well and played people even better. He was by far the most interesting and entertaining of this group.
Another question for this thread: Has anyone applied to be on Survivor? Would you want to? I've been thinking about applying but I haven't convinced myself that I would be ok with all of the publicity if I made it on the show. |

Prime Time is not yet ready for my physique (although America does seem to have accepted Ruben on American Idol), so I haven't applied.
This was the second-most disappointing Survivor of them all. They gave them tons of food, fire, and water, and the show became a game where the most weasly had all the advantages. Remember the loophole in "Weakest Link" that caused the cancellation? The strongest players were always voted out first and each episode dumbed down to the mediocre players. Survivor ended up the same. I despised Jenna, and was so disgusted that I turned off the reunion show and didn't watch.

i watch the show religiously because its always followed by the best show on tv...csi.
but back to my post. i think that survivor has been pretty lax since survivor africa. the contestants have been spoiled with resources that give them major advantages in the game. a flint, a mirror, a magnifying glass. its been getting easier and easier for them to create fire. they even give them fishing line and hooks to go fishing. i feel that if cbs didnt give them these items, maybe theyd be more resourcefull with their personal items they bring. maybe bring a fishing pole instead of a magic 8 ball? bring some matches instead of a golf club? i dunno if thats allowed...but its just my two cents. go jenna.

Rob played the "best"... so I think he should have won. Definately NOT lazy ass Jenna...
Between those 2 Mateo should have taken the prize...I too was so disapointed that I did not watch the reunion. On a different note... anyone have the "UNEDITED" episode where Heidi got nekkid for peanut butter? Does it exist? If so, please post in appropriate area ... :P

It was a hoot that Jenna won the last two challenges, but I think Matt should'a got the big prize. He was so close to getting the boot a number of times, yet there he was at the end, somehow.
Jenna was always insulated, as a part of some group, so she had a lot of nerve saying anyone else rode coat-tails into the finish. As a show, overall, yeah, it's hokey and 'bogus' reality; it's schlock, but very well produced and entertaining schlock. What more could you want from network teevee? Now, 'Love Cruise' was some timeless art..... |

Don't know if Jenna was "deserving". I agree, she rode the coat tails, was insulated and did nothing to contribute in camp, but I suppose it could be argued that she "played the game".
Jenna has neither the wit nor the charisma to play as Rob did and does not have the intelligence nor the physical ability to play as Matthew did. But she did play, she played it (and the other survivors) her way. I'd have preferred Matthew to win. And also agree that Rob was the highlight of the show, game player, funny guy, and I guess deserving of the title "Soul Survivor". Last edited by Jinger; 05-17-2003 at 06:33 AM.. |
