Crispin Glover on David Letterman
Found this the other day, a classic clip...thought you'd find it interesting. It's Crispin Glover, of Back To the Future fame, tripping on Acid on the Letterman Show...

Thanks for digging up that hilarious blast from the past. I remember seeing it on a Letterman special years and years ago, possibly when he switched networks. "I'm strong... and I can kick" has been an inside joke between my friends and I ever since.

Y'know, right after I typed that I had to scuttle off to IMDb to make sure he wasn't dead.
Turns out he has 2 movies coming out this year. http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000417/

Man, Crispin Glover is one weird guy. He's hilarious in the video, I first saw it a few months ago, and it's still funny.

I read about that a few months ago and must say that although the article described how weird it was I wasn't quite prepared for it to be that odd. It's almost painful to watch. You gotta wonder if he was doing an act or if that's his real personality.
Thanks for finding that. I had wanted to see it for quite some time. |

Hahaha, that was hilarious. "And I can kick." Usually hard to tell if he's high or not because it does just seem so weird.

Crispin Glover's a weird dude.
He records albums as well as acting, and uses the money he makes from stuff like "Charlie's Angels" and "Willard" to make his own experimental films. I think he'd make a fantastic Joker.

I wonder if people call him Crispy for short... or maybe even Extra Crispy.

I was watching that when it was first broadcast, many years ago. After that clip ends the show went to commercial. When they came back, Crispin Glover was gone and Dave made it a point to mention that the kick came within an inch or two of hitting him in the head, and Glover would never be back on his show. It seemed funnier then, now he just seems pathetic.

LOL, that was definently one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I would not want to be David Letterman that night.

Looked to me like a kid who wasn't prepared for fame and instead of getting the big head went bonkers because of the nasty press.
I thought it was all a schtick (because of the "nice shoes yell" and the wig) but when he kicked and then grabbed Letterman. WOW. I have seen stoned actors (Farrah on Letterman, Val Kilmer on Leno, etc.) on talk shows but never saw anyone act like that (except Kaufman and the Lawler bit).

Crispin was on Letterman around the time that Willard came out and he was totally different than he was in that clip.
He was almost nerdy geeky that last visit. Wow what a change.
