Courtroom Scene as a Series Finale...

I'm surprised at how common court cases are used as a series finale. Just off the top of my head, I can think of Seinfeld, The X-Files and Touched by an Angel, all of differing genres (comedy, sci-fi and drama, respectively...).

Can anyone think of any others? Why do you think courtroom scenes are so popular? Why use it to end your series?

Because it's so easy for the producers to use the courtroom evidence proceedure as a vehicle to intro clips from previous shows, and it's also why series finales usually suck. I've already seen the previous shows. Show me a new story or you should have ended it 1 episode earlier ;)

I'll go out on a limb and say the last episodes of Law and Order, SVU and Criminial Intent will be in the court room....
