A&E Airline

I searched for Airline and didn't find anything, so I'm sorry if this is repost.

Anyone watch the A&E show called Airline. It's a 30 minute reality show about the Southwest Airline company. They had a film crew at Chicago Midway, LAX, and someother airports and filmed the employee's daily activitie.

I was wondering if I was the only one thinking about this. But doesn't the customers being filmed have to sign a release form? Do they get paid by A&E?

The reason why I ask is that there have been several customers on the show that pretty much mad a complete ASS of themselves, and now it's on national cable television.

For example one lady though Southwest lost her luggage. So at the service desk she was getting really ticked off that SW lost her luggage, and that she will never fly with them again. She said it was a Green suit case and the SW guy was on the phone calling the other air ports to track it down.

Now several minutes pass and no sign of the bag. But the film crew noticed a suit case going around the baggage claim area, but it was brown. The woman is getting really angry, and then they go to commercial. When they return another Southwest person rolls a brown suit case into the customer service area, and ask "is this your bag" The lady goes No it's not, it green. Oh wait it a minute, it is mine......

Now how stupid would you feel at the moment....

Then there was ashow with a lady and two kids from San Diego. First of all Since 9/11 how many times a week do you hear on that you should be at the airport around 1 1/2 hours 2 hours before your flight due to security screenings??????

This lady was late and pissed that she missed her flight. And that she needed to get home that night. There were no other Southwest flights until the morning, so she was going all over the airport looking for another airline to get back to San Diego that night.

Well the fact is she was late and tough shit. Why get pissed at the airline for being on time with their departure, yet she can't make it to the air port with time to spare???

Some of the other are people who are too drunk to be on the flight etc. etc. But in the end the person looks like a complete ASS.

So do you think A&E paid them to be on the show to make a complete fool out of yourself?

Also I read that Southwest has no say in what is shown on TV. So whether or not Southwest looks bad because of their mistake, or it's the customer fault, Southwest has no say in what is aired. And from all the shows I have seen, 90% of the problems were customer's fault to begin with.

I enjoyed the episode in which they concetrated on drunks. Good times.

As for getting the partipants permission to use them in their episodes....COPS did it, and I'd guess that 'Leroy Meth-head' didn't sign no fuckin' waiver.

As far as I know they do need to get a waiver signed to show the episode.. BUT, most of the people you mentioned wouldnt know they were being complete dumbasses, and wouldnt care..

You'll notice on some COPs eposides that the suspect's face or other's faces are blurred out.. That means that they couldnt get a waiver from them.

Throw $50 in someone's face and they'll let you show them doing ANYTHING.. Ever tune into Funniest home videos? ;)

I have seen the show and thought it is pretty cool. I fly Southwest all the time so it really hits home for me. One thing I must say is that I have never seen any of the weird things they have shown on the show, with the exception of the drunkeness that sometimes accompanys flights to Vegas. As for whether the people sign waivers or whatever, they probably do, remember the guys on Jackass got people to look stupid all the time and they still got the waivers.

My next door neighbor is a lead flight attendant. He says the stuff you see on Airline is the mild stuff.
