Fast And The Furious 3 Greenlit w/ Vin Diesel possible return!

Quote:

Universal Pictures is developing a third installment of The Fast and the Furious and is hoping to put Vin Diesel back in the driver's seat of the Neal Moritz-produced franchise, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Universal, which will release Diesel starrer The Chronicles of Riddick on June 11, has begun to rev up the "Fast" team by hiring Chris Morgan to pen a script that would accommodate Diesel's return to the street-racing franchise.

The studio said no deal is in place with the actor, adding that it is "looking to bring back certain elements from the first two films." While reps for Diesel said he is interested in the project, pending completion of the screenplay, Walker's reps said he is not currently committed to a third movie.
Yeah, he would wanna come back after the second movie was very successful without him. LoL. But anyways, I'd like to see his character return to the franchise because the second one wasn't the same without him.

meh

Mr.Deflok 03-09-2004 10:18 AM

Vin Diesel resonates with the emotional intelligence of Graham Greene.

For what it's worth, FATF and 2F2F were ridiculous entertainment, xXx is one of the worst films I have ever seen, Pitch Black is actually quite decent and Iron Giant is brilliant (haven't seen Boiler Room or any others, well SPR..)

FaderMonkey 03-09-2004 12:12 PM

I though xXx was better than I had expected, but FATF...that was pretty horrible. I actually didn't mind Vin Diesel all that much. It was Paul Walker that had me banging my head against the wall.

Mephisto2 03-09-2004 12:18 PM

They are terrible movies.

Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Terrible.

Mr Mephisto

SecretMethod70 03-09-2004 12:38 PM

I'll see Fast and the Furious 3 as many times as I saw 2 Fast 2 Furious......zero. And then there's the one time I saw the original Fast and the Furious. One time too many. Thankfully, I've been spared seeing xXx

moonstrucksoul 03-09-2004 12:42 PM

i haven't seen either of them, are they really that bad? I liked Diesel in Pitch Black, and xXx was ok, I undersstand the man looks good in a tank top but is his acting bad or are the flicks bad?

Mephisto2 03-09-2004 01:08 PM

Did I already say the movies were terrible?

They were terrible.

Mr Mephisto

illesturban 03-09-2004 01:31 PM

LoL the first FATF wasn't THAT bad lmao, but I mean xXx was garbage. I dunno I liked FATF but didn't care too much for the second one. I just think it'd be pretty tight if they brought Diesel back for the 3rd but that's just me.

These movies are also intended for a target audience being teenagers to 20's so I dunno if you don't fit that range or don't have a thing for cars then you might not care for the movie too much. *shrug*

WarWagon 03-09-2004 01:39 PM

Heh, I only have a "teensy" bias against imports, but boy, I sure hope that the cars in the third one have the ability to speed up in mid air again

lmfao :lol::lol::lol:

Edit: Almost forgot to mention, those movies are HORRIBLE. Emphasis on the HORRIBLE.

World's King 03-09-2004 01:59 PM

Damn... now I gotta go buy a Honda so I fit in.

sherpahigh 03-09-2004 02:04 PM

Pretty much already summed up in the above replys. I was unfortunate enough to catch FATF on a flight one afternoon and swore up and down never to put myself through such shite again. So far looking at previews of every other movie VD's been in I'd say I'm not missing a lot.

Kaos 03-09-2004 03:34 PM

They shouldn't have made a second movie, and definitely shouldn't even think about making a 3rd.

Mr. Mephisto sums up my feeling about these movies quite well. :)

silent_jay 03-09-2004 05:43 PM

terrible movies, seen the first one once, haven't seen the second, don't plan on it either, I hate Vin Diesel, the only thing he has ever been good in has been Boiler Room, oh yeah no intention of seeing XXX either, Mr. Mephesto sums up my feelings quite well also.

punx1325 03-09-2004 07:00 PM

Worst acting....EVER!

Qazwsxedc 03-09-2004 07:22 PM

both movies sucked big time.. the acting is HORRENDOUS!

plot = bad
acting = bad
chicks = meh
cars = some were pretty good

watch this movie for... actually, don't watch the movie..

asudevil83 03-09-2004 10:30 PM

every movie that VD has been in has been crap. IMO he is probably one of the worst actors out there...he's got no personality, probably even worse that Keano. i really dont see why he's even out there in the business.

mastboyx 03-09-2004 11:21 PM

omg! are they serious!? these movies are just BAD, not bad meaning good but just BAD meaning they suck ass

He wasn't speeding up in mid air. :p
First of all, he used nos right before the bridge, and second of all, its called drafting.

And on another note, I for one, am excited about this. :)

If anyone else is, here is a link for some form of proof. :D

Cynthetiq 03-11-2004 07:36 AM

I liked Boiler Room, I wouldn't call it a Vin Diesel movie, since it's really more Giovanni Ribisi, but Vin is in the movie. That's a good movie..."Act as If..." speech from Ben Affleck was the best.

VD isn't as bad as Paul Walker.. i cannot stand his forced acting and stick like movements. I will never ever watch a movie with Paul Walker in it again..

illesturban 03-11-2004 09:55 AM

^Varsity Blues... that was a good one. He was OK in that one.

yea VB was a great movie.. love it when tweeder steals the ploice car lol.. tweeder to police "cute mount-me hat" "mount-me?" "not now but maybe after a few drinks" haha

but with The Fast and the Furious movies.. its all about what you expect when you walk in.. the movies are about street racing.. really.. how much of an oscar performance do you expect?.. if you go in expecting a decent movie with some sweet cars in it.. then it'll be great.. just dont be so critical when you're seein the movie.

Qazwsxedc 03-11-2004 11:48 AM

i don't think i'm being overly critical. But when i go to watch a movie i expect a certain level of acting ability. I might have enjoyed the Fast and the Furious francise a bit more had paul walker not been cast in one of the lead roles.

Hrothgar 03-11-2004 05:00 PM

Fuck someone shoot me dead now.

sinjien 03-11-2004 08:00 PM

VD is all right. Paul Walker sucks. The only time i thought he acted well was in Joyride...mainly due to the fact that he was a scared bitch the whole time. The Chronicles of Riddick should be a hell of a lot better than all of VD's movies combined. Or it just may be another waste of $$$ and talented CG animators. I never saw TFTF and i dont plan on seeing the next one. But 'Chronicles' i will see.

Phaenx 03-14-2004 04:02 AM

Oh god, NOO. NOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I hate those fucking movies so hard, a lesser mans head would explode from the intensity. Sometimes, I hate it so badly, the hatred takes a physical manifestation and eats the soul of some nearby virgin.

That's how much I hate those god damn movies. Nothing personal if you like them, but however much you like them, just keep in mind I hate them with like 90x more passion.

What about Saving Private Ryan?

justinh28 03-15-2004 02:04 PM

he might do it he probally will it will be cool to see

Lasereth 03-15-2004 02:14 PM

I enjoyed Fast and the Furious, even though I agree that a movie about ricing out cars is a pretty bad idea. It was cheesy, but it was actually a decent movie! An example of how to REALLY screw up a movie like that is Biker Boyz. Now that was shit.

I haven't seen Fast and the Furious 2, but the CG in the trailer was enough to make me pass. I've heard it was about the same league as the first one.

xXx was definitely not that bad. I liked it more than F&F. As soon as you accept the over-the-top stunts and exaggerated plot, it's a pretty damn good movie.

I realize that all of noone is gonna agree with my opinions, but I'm not trying to start a flame war. Just showing that the movies aren't that bad in some people's eyes!
